Job Description

Job Title: Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) Manager
Location: San Diego, CA 92130 (Onsite)
Assignment Duration: 3 months (Possible Extension)
 
Position Overview
Reporting to the Sr. Director of FP&A, the FP&A Manager will be a key financial business partner, supporting decision-making across the organization. The role is responsible for delivering meaningful reporting and analytics, managing financial planning processes, and collaborating with functional teams to drive strong financial outcomes.
 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop, implement, and maintain P&L reporting and variance analysis for business partners and Finance leadership.
  • Partner with G&A Corporate Departments, providing thought leadership and actionable financial insights.
  • Support coordination and consolidation of expense forecasts for recurring planning processes, including rolling forecasts, annual operating plans, and long-range planning.
  • Assist in the improvement of FP&A systems, including NetSuite Planning and Budgeting.
  • Collaborate with Accounting to ensure GAAP compliance and adherence to company policies.
  • Maintain and improve reporting processes to support internal business requirements.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
 
Required Skills & Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related field (MBA preferred).
  • 5–8 years of progressive experience in FP&A or finance roles, in pharmaceutical or biotech industries.
  • Strong financial analysis skills and ability to translate data into strategic recommendations.
  • Proven track record of producing accurate, detailed, and reliable work.
  • Expertise in NetSuite, NetSuite Planning and Budgeting, and SmartView.
  • Working knowledge of US GAAP.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; able to influence and collaborate across all organizational levels.
  • Advanced MS Office skills (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook).
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, project-driven environment and manage multiple priorities.
  • Intellectual curiosity and ability to work independently to solve complex problems.
  • Passion for streamlining systems, processes, and reporting.
  • Experience in administrative support, data entry, or document management in a corporate setting would be preferred.
  • Familiarity with CRM or contract management systems (Agiloft, Coupa, DocuSign) would be a bonus.
  • Attention to detail, organizational skills, and professionalism.
  • Integrity, confidentiality, and process-oriented mindset.
