Job Title:  Epic Program Manager
Duration of project:  6 months

• This role requires a highly experienced Program Manager with deep Epic program management expertise, which goes beyond the capabilities of a standard Program Manager.
• The candidate must have significant hands-on experience leading Epic implementations and multi module Epic programs.

Job Description – Position Summary
• The Epic Program Manager is responsible for the definition, planning, execution, and delivery of complex, enterprise level Epic programs that span multiple projects, teams, and clinical/business functions.
• Ensures delivery within established scope, quality, schedule, and budget requirements while managing moderate risk environments and cross functional interdependencies.
Primary Responsibilities
• Lead strategic planning and execution for large scale Epic initiatives with multi module integration points.
• Deliver programs within scope, quality, time, and budget while proactively managing risks and dependencies.
• Oversee program governance, executive level updates, stakeholder engagement, and communication strategies.
• Manage matrixed teams consisting of internal staff, exempt employees, and contractors supporting Epic development and enhancements.
• Provide oversight for requirements gathering and documentation.
• Provide oversight for scope definition and change control.
• Provide oversight for work effort estimation and resource planning.
• Provide oversight for program schedules, timelines, and milestone tracking.
• Provide oversight for budget planning, monitoring, and reporting.
• Provide oversight for issue and risk identification, escalation, and contingency planning.
• Utilize strong team building, leadership, and negotiation skills to influence outcomes across multiple organizational levels.
• Ensure alignment with software development lifecycle (SDLC) methodologies and operational readiness activities.
• Partner closely with clinical, technical, and business leaders to ensure solutions meet organizational needs.
Required Skills & Experience
• 4–6+ years of program/project management experience, including large scale Epic implementation leadership.
• Proven experience delivering technology and business application solutions within a large, multi-platform environment.
• Strong capabilities in project scheduling and tracking.
• Strong capabilities in risk assessment and mitigation.
• Strong capabilities in customer interaction and stakeholder management.
• Strong capabilities in implementation planning in complex organizations.
• Demonstrated ability to adapt, prioritize, and exercise sound judgment in dynamic environments.
• Strong aptitude for quickly learning business processes and building effective partnerships.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
• Experience working within structured SDLC processes.
Preferred Qualifications
• Current Epic certification in at least one module (e.g., EpicCare, Resolute, Cadence).
• PMP or PMI certification.
• Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
• MBA or advanced degree preferred.
• Proficiency with program management tools and healthcare IT systems.
