Job Title: Field Service Technician I (Tech 1)
Location: Reno, NV 89506
Work Type: Remote / Field-Based
Duration: 90-Day Contract-to-Hire
Schedule: Monday – Friday | 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM (1-hour lunch)
On-Call: Yes
Travel: Local travel required (50–200 miles daily)
Conversion Rate: $23.50/hr upon full-time hire

Job Overview

We are seeking a Field Service Technician I to provide on-site technical support to clients in the Reno, NV area. The technician will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing desktops, laptops, servers, printers, and network-related equipment at client locations. This role requires strong technical troubleshooting skills, customer service focus, and organizational abilities.

The position is a 90-day contract-to-hire opportunity, with the potential for permanent conversion based on performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Travel to client locations to maintain, analyze, troubleshoot, and repair desktops, laptops, servers, printers, and basic network equipment.

  • Provide technical support and issue resolution for hardware-related problems.

  • Perform installation, maintenance, and repair of IT equipment at customer sites.

  • Diagnose and troubleshoot technical issues across multiple systems and devices.

  • Maintain accurate documentation and service records for completed work.

  • Ensure compliance with service level agreements (SLAs) and meet customer deadlines.

  • Maintain strong customer service and communication while supporting clients onsite.

  • Coordinate with internal teams and dispatch systems to manage daily service requests and scheduling.

Required Skills

  • Basic knowledge of printers, laptops, desktops, servers, and networking equipment.

  • Strong troubleshooting and technical problem-solving skills.

  • Good administrative and organizational abilities.

  • Strong customer service and communication skills.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of technical support or IT-related experience preferred (not required).

  • CompTIA A+ Certification required within 6 months of hire.

  • Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle required.

  • Must be able to travel locally to client sites (50–200 miles daily).

  • Ability to pass background check and drug screening.

Additional Details

  • Candidates must be located within 25 miles of Reno, NV.

  • Position requires local travel for daily dispatch assignments.

  • Must be comfortable working independently while supporting multiple client locations.
