Job Title: Phlebotomist I
Duration: 3+ Months
Location: 2800 W Mallard Creek Church Rd, Charlotte, NC
Shift: 1st Shift – 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM (Monday–Friday)
Job Summary
The main function of a Phlebotomist is to assist in performing various assigned duties including troubleshooting, training, and making workflow recommendations while ensuring proper specimen collection and handling.
Key Responsibilities

Perform blood draws and collect other specimens such as urine or fecal samples as required.

Label specimens accurately and ensure proper handling and storage according to established procedures.

Centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens based on test requirements.

Properly explain the venipuncture process to patients in a clear and courteous manner.

Demonstrate techniques using straight needles and/or butterfly needles.

Match laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes and verify test requisitions to ensure 100% accuracy.

Package specimens for transport and maintain specimen integrity by following temperature and protocol guidelines.

Record maintenance data, perform decontamination procedures, and update patient information as needed.

Ensure compliance with OSHA and DEP regulations.

Attend annual department trainings.

Answer telephone calls and provide laboratory results to authorized inquiries.
Minimum Qualifications

Valid Phlebotomy certification (required in some states).

Minimum 6 months of experience performing venipunctures in a fast-paced lab or hospital setting.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

High School Diploma or GED required.
