Role Overview

• The Integrated Discovery and Bioprocess (IBD) department in Crop Health R&D plays a critical role in the discovery, development, and optimization of live microbial products and small-molecule natural product active ingredients.
• The Contract Research Associate will support the Microbial Genomics team by collecting bacterial and fungal samples across different fermentation scales, performing nucleic acid extractions, and executing common laboratory analytical methods.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform extraction of DNA, RNA, and small molecule metabolites from bacterial and fungal microbes under supervision
• Ship nucleic acids and other biological materials in compliance with regulatory requirements
• Execute microbial genomics analytical methods including:
• Spectrophotometry
• PCR
• Digital PCR
• Gel electrophoresis
• Maintain accurate laboratory records and documentation
• Communicate results and updates with relevant stakeholders

Required Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree in Biotechnology, Molecular Biology, or a related field
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
• Preferred Qualifications
• Hands-on experience in a molecular biology, microbiology, or genomics laboratory

• Education Level: Associate’s preferred, Bachelor’s acceptable, Master’s considered overqualified
