Job Description
Position Title: Clinical Coding Specialist
Work Location: The Woodlands, TX 77380
Assignment Duration: 06 months
Work Schedule: Mon – Fri (8:00am – 5:00pm)
Work Arrangement: Remote
Key Responsibilities:
• Abstracts clinical information from a variety of medical records and assigns appropriate ICD 9 CM and/or CPT codes to patient records according to established procedures.
• Analyzes, enters and manipulates database, confirms appropriate DRG assignments.
Qualification & Experience:
• Experienced, fully competent in own area covering a wide range of tasks. Completes own role independently or with minimal supervision.
• Complete understanding of the general and technical aspects of the job.
• Provides resolutions to a wide range of problems. Job requires judgement within defined policies and practices.
• Works with limited autonomy and under moderate direction. Routine work requires no direction. Work is evaluated upon completion to ensure objectives have been met.
• Required vs. preferred skills: Excel, CRC
• Knowledge in ICD-9 and CPT-4 coding required.
