Schedule Hours: 7:30am-5pm Monday-Friday; (Possible OT)

Job Description:
The selected candidate will contribute to the overall success of the Stock Loan Middle Office ensuring specific individual goals, plans, initiatives are executed / delivered in support of the team’s business strategies and objectives. They will all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.

Typical Day in Role:
  • Champions a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.
  • Operating independently, identifying and resolving issues with minimal oversight. Capable and comfortable operating within tight deadlines, able to make quick decisions, and able to quickly learn about the business/issues, without necessarily having any prior direct experience with the subject matter.
  • Performing daily operational activities in support of the Stock Loan front office with a focus on trade life cycle management, trade control and client service
  • Good understanding of the functions supporting SBL Middle office Processing and knowledge of the overall trade lifecycle and its key stakeholders
  • Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
  • Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas in accordance with client’s Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.

  • Negotiations with stakeholders to complete tasks within given deadlines
  • Ensures data accuracy and completeness
  • Follows Client’s policies and procedures to mitigate risk
  • Utilizes strong communication, interpersonal and diplomacy skills to interact with colleagues and stakeholders, and to exchange potentially complex sensitive information, while being sensitive to audience diversity
  • Timely management and escalation of all requests inquiries issues errors
  • Follows established procedures to identify problems related to securities settlement that require investigation or research
 
Candidate Requirements/Must Have Skills:
  1. 2+ years of experience in banking/capital markets operations.
  2. Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to negotiate, influence and interact professionally with a diverse group of Front Office Users, QAs, Developers, and SMEs
  3. Demonstrated knowledge of analytical problem solving and process engineering techniques (i.e. process mapping and analysis techniques)
  4. Strong technical abilities including knowledge of basic software engineering principles and experience in (SQL, VBA, Access, Excel), and a sound understanding of operational processes
 
Nice-To-Have Skills:
  • 1-3 years post-graduate experience in industry or academia in in the areas of capital markets, finance and banking and/or process improvement, business analysis and solution implementation
 
Soft Skills Required:

  • Deadline driven
  • Self-motivated
 
Education: College diploma

Best VS. Average Candidate: The ideal candidate would have all the required must-have skills and would have strong process improvement/business analysis/solution implementation experience.

Candidate Review & Selection: 2 rounds
  • 1st round – HM + manager – 30 mins – virtual or in-person
  • 2nd round – Director – 30 mins – virtual (cameras on)
//IV will be focused on personality fit with a combination of behavioural/situation questions.
