Job Description

Position Title: IT Program Manager
Duration: 1 year (possibility of extension and conversion)
Schedule: M-F, core business hours – 37.5 hours per week, 7.5 hours per day
Work Location: Hybrid – currently 2 days on site, 3 days work from home - 4 days on site, 1 day work from home eventually (Toronto, London, Ottawa)

 Department Overview             
The P&T Delivery Practice was established to lead Project Management professionals as they work with delivery teams on projects and programs that the build the capabilities, systems and processes required for best-in-class operations and other enabling capabilities across the client's Enterprise.
 
Job Overview : 
The Senior Program Manager will plan, manage, and deliver distinct programs with a high level of risk exposure through all specific phases in alignment with business and/or enterprise strategies.
Your Accountabilities Include:
•Indirectly manage program team consisting of Business Analysts, Business SMEs and technology resources under the PDLC or Agile or hybrid project & resource management frameworks.
•Engage Executive Sponsor, senior leadership, and other key stakeholder groups to ensure effective, efficient and compliant delivery of programs.
•Engage appropriate stakeholders to identify and manage required outcomes of programs for the business
•Establish effective program oversight and other governance structures and protocols, and engage the correct levels to support the direction for the program(s)
•Provide on-going communication to key stakeholders, including the Program Sponsor, Business Program Owner and Portfolio Manager to ensure they are aware of significant changes to the program status(es) in a timely manner
•Respond to inquiries and escalate concerns from stakeholders at all levels in the organization (technical, business, Senior and Executive Management)
•Provide advice and guidance to business partners and program team(s) as required regarding best practices in program management
•Collaborate with appropriate partners to ensure required resources are assigned to the program for successful delivery
•Deliver and own program outcomes that are aligned to established cost, timing, deliverable and scope objectives
•Generate cost estimates and provides program financial management, incorporating risk, by leveraging appropriate tools and templates
•Proactively identify and track program risk and develop mitigation plans to manage risk
•Accurately forecast and manage assigned budget to provide monthly financial reporting for programs in alignment with Finance standards
•Support vendor management and strategic sourcing process, managing RFP activities and partnering with vendor(s) to ensure efficient and effective program delivery
•Apply TDBG principles of program management life cycle methodologies & governance, tools and best practices, ensuring that appropriate documentation, change and risk management practices are in place
 
Must Haves:
1.) 10+ years of Program Management experience
2.) Experience leading team’s of Project Managers
2.) Experience leading multiple complex technology project deliverables (in parallel) with large multi-million dollar budgets
3.) Experience delivering with compliance to internal governance standards
3.) Big bank experience

4.) Regulatory Delivery experience
5.) Complex Data Project experience

Degree/Level of Education: Post secondary is preferred, work experience is also important
Certifications Required: PMP or Scaled Agile are an asset
Years of Overall Experience: 10+ years of experience
How will performance be measured: hitting deliverables, timelines, driving outcomes, managing risks, keep your project compliant 
Preferred/Ideal Candidate Background: Banking or financial institution is a must have, Prior client experience is a nice to have
