Project Manager (Professional)

Location - Des Moines, IA 50392 (Hybrid)

Position Summary
We are seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead a large-scale, enterprise transformational initiative consisting of 10 complex workstreams and multiple product teams. This program supports capabilities representing approximately $75M–$100M in enterprise spend.
This role will serve as the accountable lead for cross-workstream coordination, planning, dependency management, and executive reporting. The Project Manager will partner closely with an existing Senior Program Manager who has been leading the initiative since inception. While both will collaborate in day-to-day operations, this role will hold primary accountability for overall coordination and execution.
The position requires strong executive presence, the ability to operate in ambiguity, and experience leading highly visible, enterprise-wide initiatives.
 
Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate and integrate activities across 10 concurrent workstreams and multiple product teams
• Ensure all workstreams are aligned to timelines, milestones, and business outcomes
• Build and maintain an integrated cross-program/product roadmap highlighting key dependencies
• Identify interdependencies and risks across workstreams; implement mitigation plans and escalate when necessary
• Create and distribute weekly executive-level status reports, including risk awareness and key updates
• Facilitate recurring coordination meetings with workstreams, product teams, leadership, and stakeholders
• Partner with Senior Program Manager to ensure seamless day-to-day program operations
• Balance competing priorities and lead through ambiguity to deliver outcomes
• Build and sustain strong cross-functional relationships through influence and collaboration
• Execute effectively within a matrixed environment
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned

 
Required Qualifications

• 10+ years of project/program management experience leading large, transformational, multi-workstream initiatives
• Proven experience managing enterprise-scale initiatives with executive visibility
• Strong stakeholder management and facilitation skills
• Advanced risk and dependency management capabilities
• Executive presence with excellent communication, presentation, and storytelling skills
• Ability to influence without formal authority
• Experience operating in highly matrixed organizations
• Strong planning, prioritization, and decision-making abilities
• Ability to thrive in ambiguous and high-pressure environments
• Strong relationship-building and collaboration skills
• Advanced PC proficiency

 
Preferred Qualifications

• Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
• Experience leading large transformative IT initiatives
• Process mapping experience
• Experience working with governance functions such as Risk, Compliance, and Legal
• Experience assessing organizational culture and adapting delivery approach accordingly
