Job Title: R&D Operations Manager
Location: Remote - US standard working hours

- Experience managing a budget (project, function, or otherwise)
Preferred Knowledge of Tools:

Key Responsibilities:
- Budget Management: Planning/Forecasting, Managing/Monitoring Actuals vs Budget, Execution/Guiding Stakeholders to the correct process
- Managing Accounting/Finance Deadlines: Quarter Close, Latest Estimated (LE) Budget Submissions; Annual Planning Cycle; Budget Variance Explanation; Quarter Accruals; Reclassing Expense; PO/Contract Management – monitoring or closures, Long Range Planning, Year End Close
- Communication with Stakeholders: At the individual budget owner level, at a team level, at a Leadership level (executive presence)
- Data Analytics: Maintaining Anaplan, Building Dashboards, Maintaining Dashboards, Using Power BI or Tableau or other tools to analyze data
- Monitoring Budget/Actuals: Tracking POs/Contracts; Tracking or Investigating Invoices; Budget Variance Analysis
- Supplier Engagement: Communication with suppliers to resolve financial discrepancies or operational issues and maintain a relationship
Basic Qualifications:
- Master’s degree and 3 years of biotech/pharma-related business operations/financial analytics experience
- Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of biotech/pharma-related business operations/financial analytics experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with financial reporting and forecasting
- General familiarity with the drug development process and various business units within an R&D function
- Demonstrated proficiency with data visualization tools (Tableau) and collaboration tools (Smartsheet, MS Teams)
- Fluent with MS Office suite and advanced capabilities in Excel
- Experience with enterprise tools SAP, Ariba, Anaplan
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to thrive in a complex and matrixed environment, to collaborate and coordinate with individuals at various levels, to influence others effectively and handle multiple responsibilities simultaneously
- Excellent communicator able to develop and deliver communications that facilitate organizational change in an efficient, effective, and expedient manner
- Quick learner who is proactive and takes initiative
