Safety Specialist
Location: 1400 Southport Pkwy Wilmer, TX 75172
Duration: 4 months (with possible extension)
Shift Schedule - Wed – Sat – 8:00 am – 6:30 pm - May have to come in a bit earlier for peak season
Training Schedule – Days – TBD on what days

Key Responsibilities
- Ensure warehouse safety through audits, OSHA compliance, training, and incident management.
- Conduct weekly and monthly safety audits to identify compliance issues, risks, and improvement opportunities
- Facilitate incident investigations to ensure worker safety and compliance with OSHA regulations
- Maintain accurate documentation to meet regulatory standards (29 CFR 1910)
- Enter safety data into internal databases promptly
- Perform safety observations and ensure adherence to safety protocols
- Train and support team members, including Area Managers, on safety audits and compliance
- Support fire prevention, hazardous waste management, or other safety initiatives as needed
- Drive process improvements to enhance workplace safety
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of experience in an Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) role OR a Bachelor’s degree in a related field
- In-depth knowledge of OSHA regulations, specifically 29 CFR 1910
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel in a professional setting
- Ability to maintain confidentiality in matters involving security or personnel
- Availability to work flexible shifts, including days, nights, and weekends
- Strong communication skills and a calm demeanor in high-pressure situations
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in a safety-related field
- Experience leading teams and conducting job hazard analyses
- Expertise in Workers’ Compensation case management
- Current first aid certifications
- Background in healthcare or industrial settings
- Passion for championing worker safety and OSHA compliance
