Position Overview

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Entry-Level Cost Accountant to join a leading manufacturing organization in Johns Creek, GA. This role is ideal for a recent graduate or early-career accounting professional looking to gain hands-on experience in cost accounting within a production-driven environment. The position will support cost analysis, inventory accounting, and financial reporting activities that directly impact operational efficiency and business performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing and analyzing cost reports, product costing, and variance analysis

• Support month-end close activities related to inventory and cost accounting

• Monitor inventory transactions and reconcile raw materials, WIP, and finished goods accounts

• Help maintain and update standard costs within the ERP system

• Analyze manufacturing variances and support operational teams with cost insights

• Ensure financial data accuracy and compliance with GAAP

• Assist with audits and documentation related to inventory and cost processes

• Utilize Excel and ERP systems to generate reports and perform data analysis

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (required)

• 0–2 years of accounting experience (internship experience acceptable)

• Basic understanding of GAAP and cost accounting principles

• Strong Excel skills (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP preferred)

• Experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, JD Edwards, etc.) is a plus

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities

• Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills

Preferred Qualifications (Nice to Have)

• Internship experience in manufacturing, distribution, or public accounting

• Exposure to inventory accounting or cost accounting coursework

• CPA eligibility or currently pursuing CPA
