Position Summary

The Travel Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) is responsible for traveling to assigned locations to perform routine and specialized laboratory testing to assist in the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of disease. This role ensures accuracy, reliability, and timely reporting of laboratory results.

Key Responsibilities

• Set up, adjust, maintain, and clean laboratory equipment.

• Perform routine and specialized laboratory testing procedures.

• Analyze test and experiment results to ensure conformity with specifications using mechanical and electrical devices.

• Gather, analyze, and accurately record test data.

• Prepare detailed reports using charts, graphs, and written narratives.

• Collect and process specimens.

• Cultivate, isolate, and identify microorganisms for analysis.

• Examine stained cells to detect abnormalities.

• Collaborate with pathologists to determine final diagnoses when abnormal findings are identified.

• Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards.

Education & Experience

• High School Diploma or GED (Required)

• Associate’s Degree in Medical Technology or relevant vocational training (Preferred)

Medical & Screening Requirements

• Hepatitis B Vaccine: Offered (Declination accepted)

• Flu Vaccine: Declination accepted

• Medical Screening: Color Vision Screening required
