  • Our Safe Ads Experiences (SAE) team is building the next generation data collection platform SPECTRA (Scalable Platform for Enhanced data Collection, Targeted sampling and Rater Assistance) and shaping the future of how human-labeled data is collected and used in Client's systems. The work will help define the future of responsible advertising, meaningfully impact all stakeholders - users, advertisers, Client and regulators. About the Team:
  • The Regulated Vertical Experiences team focuses on improving ad performance in regulated industries. They build AI-powered tools to make ad impressions more effective, fair, and privacy-safe for Client’s users. Their solutions also help advertisers create safe, non-discriminatory ads and optimize revenue, using advanced machine learning to balance fairness and performance.
 
Must-Have Skills:
  1. SQL Development & Data Engineering: Writing complex queries, data transformations, ETL processes, and handling large datasets in production.
  2. Python Programming: Proficient in Python for data processing, automation, and pipeline development (object-oriented principles).
  3. Data Quality & Troubleshooting: Strong analytical skills for debugging complex data issues, implementing solutions, and ensuring data accuracy/reliability.
 
Nice-to-Have Skills:
  1. Machine Learning Experience: Understanding ML model training data, feature engineering, and evaluation metrics.
  2. Human Labeling & Annotation Systems: Workflow design, quality assurance, and vendor management in data collection operations.
  3. Experience with Privacy/Ads Products or Facebook Internal Tools: Building privacy/ads-related products or familiarity with Client’s internal tools.
 
Minimum Years of Experience:
  • 2+
 
Degrees/Certifications:
  • Required: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, or a relevant field.
 
Team & Project Details:
Key Projects/Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
  • Design, develop, and test data processing pipelines (SQL/Python).
  • Build dashboards and visualization tools for data quality and platform metrics.
  • Create end-to-end tests and monitoring alerts for platform reliability.
  • Debug and troubleshoot data flow issues across SPECTRA.
  • Collaborate with engineering, PDO, taxonomists, and vendor partners.
  • Coordinate human labeling workflows and optimize rater performance.
  • Support smart sampling and targeted data collection strategies.
 
Responsibilities:
  • Drive technical implementation and testing of complex data pipeline features within the SPECTRA platform, ensuring robust end-to-end functionality and hitting project release timelines
  • Design and develop data processing pipelines using SQL and Python to handle large-scale data collection, transformation, and quality monitoring workflows
  • Build and maintain dashboards and visualization tools to provide visibility into data quality, rater performance, and platform metrics for stakeholders across multiple teams
  • Create comprehensive end-to-end tests and monitoring alerts to ensure platform reliability, data integrity, and proactive identification of issues in the data collection workflow
  • Debug and troubleshoot complex data flow issues across the SPECTRA platform, identifying root causes and implementing solutions to maintain high system availability
  • Collaborate closely with Technical Leads and engineering teams to implement backend data processing logic and ensure adherence to Client's development standards and best practices
  • Partner with Product Data Operations (PDO) teams to coordinate human labeling workflows, budget planning, vendor management, and rater performance optimization
  • Work with Taxonomists and Data Labeling Analysts to ensure proper data classification, labeling guidelines implementation, and quality assurance processes
  • Coordinate with vendor partners to support external data collection operations, ensuring seamless integration with SPECTRA's multi-review and quality monitoring systems
  • Support smart sampling initiatives and targeted data collection strategies that have delivered significant cost savings and improved data quality across Client's advertising systems
 
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Experience in SQL development experience writing complex queries, data transformations, and working with large datasets in production environments
  • Proficient in Python with experience in data processing, automation, and pipeline development using object-oriented programming principles
  • Experience with data engineering pipelines including ETL processes, data modeling, and building scalable data processing workflows
  • Hands-on experience with data visualization and dashboard tools such as Tableau, or similar platforms for creating actionable insights from large datasets
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with demonstrated ability to debug complex data issues and implement effective solutions
  • Experience with data quality monitoring and automated testing frameworks to ensure data accuracy, completeness, and reliability
 
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Computer Science or related field
  • Machine Learning experience with understanding of ML model training data requirements, feature engineering, and model evaluation metrics
  • Experience building and scaling large products or systems
  • Experience with building privacy and ads related products is a big plus.
  • Experience working with human labeling and annotation systems including workflow design, quality assurance, and vendor management in data collection operations.
  • Prior experience in working with Facebook or Facebook internal tools is a plus.
