Location: Aibonito, PR
Pay Rate: $11.78 / Hourly
Shifts
  • Availability to work weekend shifts (Saturday & Sunday: 5:45 PM – 6:15 AM), 12-hour shifts (mostly 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM), and non-standard shifts. 
  • 1st shift:  6:00 AM - 2:00 PM
  • 2nd shift: 2:00 PM - 10:00 PM
  • 3rd shift: 10:00 PM - 6:00 AM
  • Plus 2 additional days on Shift C: 9:45 PM – 6:15 AM
Job Purpose:
  • Loads, unloads, and moves sterilized materials within Plant through Filling / Packing Areas, packing areas, out of pouch and rotary as necessary. Verifies each batch load and assures everyone comply with procedures and specifications.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Loads materials when the shift starts, reads manufacturing codes such as: blue tips, pouches, trucks.
  • Organizes trucks to start the shift.Performs line clearance as necessary: at racking area, at out of pouch or packing.
  • Loads batch samples from humid area through dry area, groups and classify them.
  • Keeps records of sample hour and move the load to in process laboratory as soon as possible.
  • Requests miscellaneous equipment and supplies at stock room, such as: plastic bags.
  • Occasionally serve as back up at racking area, packing area and during break periods.
  • Notifies to group leader any discrepancy with the materials.
  • Controls product truck cards following specifications and procedures.
  • Pick up scrap, weight and account the material at the end of each shift.
  • Locates and prepares dummies trucks at the end of each batch or code.
  • In packing area load dummies on tote pans.Performs daily check on forklift.
  • Makes minor adjustments and routine preventive maintenance on forklift (such as: verifies the battery for water level).
  • Reports major damage to immediate supervisor.
  • Reads work order or follows oral instructions to ascertain materials or containers to be moved.
  • Opens containers.
  • Loads and unloads materials onto or from pallets, trays, racks, and shelves by hand.
  • Loads materials into vehicles and installs strapping, bracing, or padding to prevent shifting or damage in transit.
  • Conveys materials from storage or work sites to designated area.
  • Secures lifting attachments to materials and conveys load to destination.
  • Counts, weighs, and records number of units of materials moved or handled on daily production sheet.
  • Attaches identifying tags or labels to materials.
  • Loads truck for Industrial Truck Operator.
  • Clamps sections of portable conveyor together to facilitate movement of materials or products.
  • Removes dummy samples of materials, labels with identifying information, and takes samples to laboratory for analysis.
  • Lifts heavy objects by hand or with fork lift, and cleans work area, machines, and equipment to assist machine operators.
  • Operates electric hoist to moves materials and products.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)., with some related experience (desirable). 
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to employees of the organization.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute percent.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • cGMP's Training, Fork Lift license and other trainings, certificates, licenses, exams and registrations that the immediate supervisor refers.
  • Observes and promotes company security, industrial hygiene, cGMP's, procedures and other security measures already established by the company; should inform any violation.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • The employee frequently is required to stand and walk.
  • The employee is occasionally required to sit and talk or hear.
  • The employee must regularly lift and/or move more than 100 pounds (with the appropriate safety equipment that the company provides).
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and color vision.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; moving mechanical parts; high, precarious places; extreme cold; risk of electrical shock; and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
  • The incumbent must use the proper equipment in any company area to comply with Company policies, and any internal or external regulation; or policy (eg. safety shoes, safety glasses, ear plugs, safety gloves, uniform).
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee have to use: telephone, office supply, Fork Lift Truck.
