Job Description

Location: Dorado, PR

Summary
Performs assembly or machines processes. Work with manufacturing and engineering departments to assure that materials used and product manufactured conforms to customer specification and expectations.  To assure the preceding occurs in an effective, efficient and positive manner.  All operators are responsible to inspect the quality of their own work.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • May perform product assembly work according to work instructions, SOP’s or customer specifications in medical clean room requirements.
  • Follows written/reading instructions accurately including but not limited to Work Instructions, Part Prints, Job Travelers and SOP’s.
  • May perform operations which may include but not limited to microscope use, grinding, radius, cleaning, trimming, heat treatment, stamping, visual inspections or packaging.
  • Process adherence is required all the time.
  • Inspects product to ensure it meets quality requirements and verification using inspection equipment such as but not limited to Caliper, Micrometer, and Optical Comparator.
  • Observes machine or equipment operation to detect malfunctions or out of tolerance conditions and advises set-up person when problem occurs. 
  • Support the Lead Operator as needed to achieve the daily & monthly output required.
  • Meet or exceed Quality and On Time Delivery goals.
  • Comply with procedures and customers specifications.
  • Participates and /or assists with cross training activities, training of new hires and temporary staff. Follows set training program for position and ensures training requirements are up to date using training tracking system.
  • Demonstrate safe work habits, and maintains clean and safe work and commons areas.
  • May provide training to employees based on expertise, resume or demonstrated work performance.
  • Follows and supports the company's quality system, policies and objectives promoting the continuous improvement.
Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma.
  • Language Skills: Good communication skills, English/Spanish (Read and Understand).
  • Attendance: Ability to work at standard business hours designated for shift.  Willing to work overtime and/or different shift as per business needs.
  • Basic Mathematical skills: Decimals, fractions, add, subtraction, division, multiplication, etc.(leveling guide)
  • Physical Demands
    • Ability to sit, stand, bend for prolonged periods of time.  Some lifting required.  Able to use respiratory masks as need it.  Ability to assemble small parts. 20/20 or corrective vision. Ability to use hand tools and light power tools and equipment as need it. Must be able to wear required Personal Protective equipment (PPE) for extended period.
  • Training Requirements
    • Procedures related to position.  Other training as necessary based on Manager’s discretion.
  • This position requires availability to work and rotate across all shifts, including: 6:00 a.m.–2:30 p.m., 2:30 p.m.–10:00 p.m., 10:00 p.m. – 6:00 a.m., 5:00 p.m.– 5:00 a.m., and 5:00 a.m.– 5:00 p.m.
