Job Description
Title: Digital QA Specialist
Location: Remote
Duration: 12 months (possibility of extension)
Education:
Bachelor of Science; 4-year pharma, health care, or regulated industry
About the Role
We're looking for a detail-oriented QA specialist to join our interactive team. You'll be responsible for ensuring the quality of digital experiences we deliver to pharmaceutical and healthcare clients, including websites, interactive forms, email campaigns, and sales aids. This is a freelance position (40 hours/week) working remotely, with hours flexing between East Coast and West Coast depending on the brand.
Work moves quickly here. You might QA an email campaign in the morning, review a website build in the afternoon, and verify design fixes before end of day. Projects vary in complexity, but turnaround is always tight. If you prefer deep-dive testing on a single product over months, this probably isn't the right fit.
This role is a good fit if you have a sharp eye for detail, can spot when development doesn't match design, and enjoy catching issues before they reach clients. You'll handle both manual and automated testing, with a significant portion of work focused on email campaigns across dozens of email clients. You'll also have the chance to shape QA processes and establish best practices as the team grows.
What You'll Do
- Review developed work against designs to verify visual accuracy and consistency
- Perform cross-browser and cross-device testing for websites and interactive experiences
- Test email campaigns across email clients (Outlook, Gmail, Apple Mail, mobile, dark mode)
- Write and maintain automated tests for web projects
- Verify that review feedback and comments (via ProofHQ) have been addressed before delivery
- Document and communicate bugs clearly to developers
- Contribute to QA process improvements and help establish workflows
Must Have
- 3+ years QA experience in a digital or web environment
- Experience with web test automation frameworks (Playwright, Cypress, Selenium, or similar)
- Cross-browser and cross-device testing proficiency
- Email testing experience across multiple clients
- Strong attention to visual detail (spotting spacing, alignment, color, typography issues)
- Basic HTML/CSS understanding (enough to identify root causes)
- Clear written communication for bug documentation
- Comfortable working independently and managing your own workload
Nice to Have
- Familiarity with AI-assisted testing tools (automated test generation)
- Experience with visual QA or design comparison tools
- Familiarity with accessibility standards (WCAG) and testing tools
- Basic Figma navigation (inspecting styles, colors, fonts)
- Experience with review/proofing tools (ProofHQ or similar)
- Test case management tools (TestRail, Jira, etc.)
- Pharmaceutical or healthcare industry experience
- Agency or fast-paced production environment background
The Team
You'll join a remote interactive department of about 30 people within a 300-person agency. The team includes 5 developers and 7 UX/UI designers. Work ranges from complex interactive sales aids and marketing websites to high-volume email campaigns. You'll collaborate closely with developers and designers through review cycles, and have input into how QA gets done.
At SPECTRAFORCE, we are committed to maintaining a workplace that ensures fair compensation and wage transparency in adherence with all applicable state and local laws. This position’s starting pay is: $ 38.00/hr.
