Job Description

Title: Accountant - Intermediate (Finance Director)
Location: New York, NY 10017, USA
Duration: 6 months (potential for extension/conversion -Possibility according to business needs.)
Shift/Hours: 40 Hours/week, 9-5 Monday to Friday
Work Model: Hybrid - 2-3 days per week on-site, typically Monday to Wednesday.
Subject to change according to business needs.


Job Purpose

The Finance Director plays an active role in executing regulatory reporting requirements and managing key financial control processes. This individual is expected to operate with minimal supervision, proactively resolve issues, and effectively manage reporting cycles and related regulatory obligations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and submit regulatory reports including:
  • Weekly 15c3-3 Customer Reserve Computation
  • Weekly Net Capital (15c3-1) and Portfolio Margin Calculations
  • Monthly FOCUS Report
  • Quarterly SEC Form 17H
  • Semi-annual SIPC-6 and Annual SIPC-7
  • Monthly FINRA Form R1 (Customer Margin Report), including margin deficit charges and unsecured/partially secured customer debits
  • Weekly/Daily/Monthly FRB Reports (FR 2004A, 2004B, 2004C, 2004SI, 2004SD, 2004WI, 2004FA, 2004FB, 2004FC, 2004FM)
  • Maintain underwriting commitments and assess required regulatory capital charges.
  • Perform risk assessments on securities trading, financing, and securities lending activities using Dash FIH, RBH, RRR, SBL, SALLIE, and FIS ALDOP systems.
  • Research and assess the impact of new accounting standards (FASB/PCAOB) and regulatory reporting proposals (FINRA/SEC/NFA) on broker-dealer reporting requirements.
  • Analyze reported data and collaborate with finance controllers, front office, middle office, risk management, and operations to explain variances across reporting periods.
  • Respond to inquiries from regulators, external auditors, internal auditors, and Head Office in a timely manner.
  • Monitor FINRA, CME, and NFA regulatory updates and reporting changes.
  • Coordinate with internal teams to maintain reporting structures and mapping rules supporting U.S. regulatory and statutory reporting (including Prime Brokerage activities).
  • Support finance technology initiatives and regulatory system enhancements.
  • Assist with annual and semi-annual financial statement preparation in accordance with US GAAP.
  • Oversee governance and regulatory reporting processes related to US Prime Brokerage activities (customer, securities lending, custody, clearance, settlement).
  • Maintain broker-dealer regulatory reporting procedures documentation.
  • Identify opportunities to improve reporting efficiency, data integrity, and process controls.

Required Qualifications

  • 2–4 years of experience in accounting or finance

  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP and FASB standards

  • Experience preparing 15c3-3, 15c3-1, and FRB regulatory reports

  • Capital Markets experience

  • CPA or CA certification

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting

  • Advanced Excel proficiency (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, etc.)

  • Proficiency in MS Office

Knowledge & Technical Skills

  • Regulatory reporting experience involving FINRA, SEC, CME, NFA, CFTC, SIPC, FASB, PCAOB

  • Strong accounting and financial reporting background

  • Working knowledge of broker-dealer reporting processes

  • Experience with Dash Fixed Income, RBH, SBL, Repo/Reverse systems, SALLIE, and FIS ALDOP preferred

  • Knowledge of internal reporting systems

Nice to Have

  • Prior financial services industry experience

  • Advanced degree (e.g., Master’s in Accounting)

  • Previous Dash system experience

Soft Skills

  • Strong analytical and communication skills

  • Ability to work independently and manage strict deadlines

  • Comfortable interacting with internal and external stakeholders

  • Team-oriented with a willingness to learn
