Job Title: Design Build/AutoCAD Consultant
Job Type: C2H
Duration: 3-4 months (with potential extension)
Start Date: ASAP (targeting early February)
Location: Remote
Role Overview
The client is seeking a Design Build Consultant with strong 2D AutoCAD experience to support distribution center facility updates, AutoCAD maintenance, and hands-on design/build projects. This role combines AutoCAD drafting, on-site facility validation, and light project leadership, requiring a highly independent consultant comfortable with heavy travel and cross-functional collaboration. This is not a pure drafting role, the consultant will work end-to-end on projects, from AutoCAD updates through on-site execution.

Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and update 2D AutoCAD drawings for distribution centers
- Update internal and external facility layouts, including:
- Conveyors
- Racking
- Mezzanines
- Offices
- Dock equipment
- Parking lots and exterior layouts
- Review facility changes made by local teams and ensure drawings reflect current state
- Travel to sites to validate changes when AutoCAD updates are insufficient
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams, vendors, and field teams
- Support design-build and construction projects as needed
- Manage work independently with minimal supervision
- Communicate clearly with stakeholders across supply chain, real estate, and operations
Required Skills & Experience
- Strong 2D AutoCAD experience (minimum 5/10 proficiency)
- Create drawings from scratch
- Update existing drawings
- Layer management
- Exporting and formatting files
- Experience working on distribution centers, warehouses, or industrial facilities
- Ability to work independently without micromanagement
- Strong communication and coordination skills
- Comfortable managing multiple projects simultaneously
- Willing and able to travel 75% or more
Preferred Qualifications
- Distribution center or supply chain facility experience
- Exposure to design-build or construction projects
- Engineering-minded background (engineering degree not required)
- Prior experience in consulting or field-based roles
- Candidates based in West Coast, Central, or Mountain regions.
- Remote-based role
- 75%+ travel required
- Candidate must live near a major airport as extensive travel is required so that they do not take much time to reach the airport.
- West Coast preferred, Central / Mountain time zones acceptable
