Salesforce Martech Architect
Duration: 12 Months (Possible Extension)
Location: Toronto, ON (3 days onsite)
Role Overview
The Salesforce Martech Architect serves as the senior technical consultant and primary subject matter expert across Salesforce Marketing Cloud (SFMC), Salesforce Data Cloud (DC), and the broader Martech ecosystem. This role focuses on end-to-end solution architecture, platform strategy, and technical governance rather than campaign execution or journey building.
Key Responsibilities
- Architect cross-cloud solutions spanning SFMC, Data Cloud, CRM, and external data platforms.
- Lead data modeling, ingestion frameworks, harmonization, and identity resolution within Salesforce Data Cloud.
- Own end-to-end Martech solution design including API integrations, data pipelines, orchestration, and activation.
- Provide technical consultation to marketing, data, and engineering teams, translating business needs into scalable designs.
- Establish governance, standards, and best practices for segmentation, data structures, platform usage, and automation.
- Develop and maintain architecture artifacts such as capability maps, data flow diagrams, and solution blueprints.
- Evaluate new Salesforce releases and emerging Martech capabilities and recommend platform enhancements.
- Guide and mentor developers, analysts, and cross-functional teams on Salesforce architecture.
Required Expertise
- 5+ years in Martech architecture, Salesforce technical consulting, or SFMC/Data Cloud SME roles.
- Deep expertise in Salesforce Data Cloud including ingestion, harmonization, identity resolution, and activation.
- Strong understanding of SFMC architecture beyond Journey/Automation Studio execution.
- Experience designing API-based integrations, event-driven architectures, and data orchestration patterns.
- Ability to drive governance, standards, and platform-level decisions across teams.
- Exceptional communication skills with ability to influence and advise technical and business stakeholders.
Nice to Have
- Experience with Interaction Studio or other Salesforce cross-cloud tools.
- Experience guiding developers and overseeing technical implementation.
- Familiarity with data privacy, consent models, and compliance frameworks.
Aditional intake notes:
Looking for a consulting background, supported multiple LOBs, and helped articulate how MC enables different use cases; they’re looking to replicate that skill set.
Priority is delivery, deadlines, and managing day-to-day work.
Experience: Financial services background is a plus. Strong MarTech experience (SFMC, Adobe, or similar) is acceptable—emphasis on thinking beyond the tool and understanding how it fits into the broader marketing tech landscape.
