Location: Sunnyvale (hybrid - 3 days in office)
Summary
The Process Engineer will drive the development of new processes and materials for soft robotics projects and contribute to the core expertise of a world-class engineering team. This role involves framing process and materials research problems, planning projects, and leading execution. Developing state-of-the-art processes and prototypes will require close collaboration across novel materials, mechanical, electrical, and software disciplines.
Key Responsibilities

Collaborate with mechanical, manufacturing, process, and materials engineers to develop and document innovative polymer-based rapid fabrication processes

Design and execute life-cycle validation efforts to confirm existing processes produce high-quality, conforming parts

Lead the production of parts using newly developed processes, adhering to aggressive timelines and design-for-manufacturability principles

Specify, set up, and operate analytical equipment used in process development

Identify and resolve manufacturing or process bottlenecks, enabling designers and engineers to work efficiently with the right tools and information
Required Skills

Strong ability to track and organize documentation, experimental results, SOPs, and work-in-progress (WIP) logs

Experience scaling processes from research to pilot production or mass manufacturing, including implementation of quality control procedures

Proven ability to design and execute process development plans, including DOE, definition of critical process parameters, and quality control strategies
Education & Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Polymer Science, Chemistry, Composites, or a related field
