Job Description
Job Title: Principle Program Manager – Cloud Cost Optimization (FinOps)
Duration: 6 months (possibility of extension)
Work Location: Remote
Overview
Seeking a Program Manager to lead cloud cost optimization across AWS, Azure and GCP, partnering with Engineering, Infrastructure, and Finance to deliver measurable savings and improve cost governance.
Key Responsibilities
Lead end-to-end FinOps programs: intake, prioritization, execution, tracking, and executive updates.
Identify and drive optimization opportunities (rightsizing, idle resource cleanup, RI/Savings Plans & Azure Reservations, storage tiering/lifecycle, egress reduction, Kubernetes cost controls).
Establish operating rhythm: weekly cost reviews, savings backlog management, and variance/anomaly triage.
Improve cost visibility and accountability via tagging standards, showback/chargeback readiness, and dashboards (spend, forecast, savings realized).
Create repeatable playbooks/guardrails to sustain improvements beyond the contract.
Qualifications:
10+ years program/project management experience in cloud/platform/infrastructure environments.
Demonstrated success reducing spend in AWS and Azure; strong understanding of billing, pricing, and cost drivers.
Strong analytics, stakeholder management, and communication skills; comfortable with senior technical leaders.
Preferred:
FinOps certification, container/Kubernetes environments, BI/dashboarding tools (PowerBI/Tableau/Looker).
