Job Description

Job Title: Process Engineering Professional Career Level
Duration: 12 Months
Location: Wilton, CT
Note: This role is contract-to-hire, and relocation support is available

Responsibilities:
As a facilities mechanical engineer, you will work on projects that enable the heart of our client’s semiconductor-based manufacturing. You and other team members will work closely with client owners in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. In this role, you will collaborate with on-site personnel to support projects of varying size and complexity, including assessment of systems, consulting system owners, and analyzing scope requests from stakeholders. You will be responsible for interacting with the client, contractors, and site personnel in Wilton, Connecticut. Your job includes designing, developing, evaluating, and preparing recommendations with the basis of design (BOD), scope of work (SOW) documents, in addition to design, construction, and specifications documents through the positional (programming) process with a team. You will also oversee engineering and construction for the facility's mechanical systems work, including HVAC, process cooling water, wastewater, general and acid/ammonia exhaust, fire protection, plumbing, process-piping, and equipment. The work will include retrofits of existing building systems, as well as new systems.
Bring your curiosity, talent for multi-tasking and collaboration, and extreme organizational skills, and we’ll help you grow, pursue, and fulfill what drives you – so we can make big impacts on the world, together.

Primary duties include the following:
• Establish and develop scope documents, client specifications, standards, and design requirements to produce construction documents for the installation of complex manufacturing tools and facilities infrastructure mechanical systems.
• Technical engineering responsibilities include code assessments/interpretation, HAZOP reviews, scope development, design, and oversight for piping and ducting for equipment heating, cooling, exhaust, and process chemicals and gasses in some of the most complex, densely packed industrial facilities on the planet. The design may include retrofit of existing building systems, including engineering calculations, equipment and component sizing, selection, and specification, and support during construction and integration into the factory.
• As the mechanical representative on a multi-discipline design team, your primary duty will be to understand site systems in question for upgrades while collaborating with trades, system/area owners, and the client. This includes an understanding of P&IDs, layout drawings, details, and equipment plans. Information gathering is key to providing design options for the client while considering cost, schedule, and scope – includes running stakeholder meetings that drive decisions and actions required.

Here's what you'll need:
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from ABET accredited university.
• At least 10 years of practical application of mechanical facilities design engineering, including HVAC, hydronics, process piping, exhaust, plumbing, and related mechanical facilities systems.
• At least 5 years of design project delivery processes experience.
• Ability to collaborate and work effectively in a variety of teams, including multi-disciplinary teams.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills, ability to prioritize, and leadership experience.
• Solid knowledge and application of the mechanical requirements per ASME and ASME B31.3, building codes, fire codes, and other related standards, such as ASHRAE.
• Solid knowledge in practice and procedures for specifications and selection of all types of mechanical equipment and components.
• Experience reviewing vendor submittal packages against client requirements and specifications.
• Field experience interacting with subcontractors and construction personnel.

Ideally, you will also have:
• EIT or Professional Engineer (PE) licensure.
• 5 years of experience as a facility engineer.
• Working knowledge of design-related deliverables, such as P&IDs, PFDs, Details, and Equipment Plans, etc.
• Proficient working knowledge of design software, such as AutoCAD, Revit, or BIM360.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Forward thinking, eager to learn best practices, and contribute with innovative ideas.
