Job Description
Job Title: Technical Writer (Software Testing/Hardware Device)
We are seeking a Technical Writer with hands-on software testing experience to collaborate closely with technical engineers. In this role, you will step through hardware devices and the associated control software, meticulously documenting procedures and creating test cases to ensure accurate and reliable device functionality.
Key Responsibilities:
• Work directly with engineering teams to understand device hardware and software behavior
• Create clear, detailed documentation outlining setup, operation, and troubleshooting steps
• Develop and maintain test cases and testing procedures that verify device performance and functionality
• Participate in hands-on testing with hardware and software to validate documentation and test cases
• Update documentation and test cases as hardware/software changes
• Support engineering and QA teams by clarifying technical documentation or test scenarios.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Technical Communication, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent work experience
• Experience in technical writing, preferably with a focus on hardware and/or software products
• Hands-on experience with software testing and test case development
• Ability to work collaboratively with engineers and subject matter experts
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong attention to detail and analytical thinking skills
Preferred Skills:
• Familiarity with hardware devices, embedded systems, or control software
• Understanding of testing methodologies (manual, automated, etc.)
