Position: Software Engineer (Backend)

Job Description:
Client believes in building smart and scalable solutions to IT problems. We hire software engineers that build tools to keep our internal systems frictionless and secure. We’re solving problems that help Client go faster, from rapid on-boarding to digital wayfinding.
 
Responsibilities:

• Evangelize workflow and systems automation in all aspects of daily life at Client
• Automate and streamline our onboarding process so that new hires can hit the ground running
• Build tools to make the workplace better: wayfinders to help people get around and digital signage to give people access to their metrics
• Drive decision making around build vs buy. Work with our vendors to get the most out of systems integrations
• Constantly critique and re-evaluate the effectiveness of our tools and get our different systems working together, e.g. Workday to LDAP or Pagerduty to Jira
• You will contribute to the development of a range of advertising products, including Video ads, Showcase ads, and Quiz ads, as well as enhance tools that streamline ad management—making creation and editing more seamless for our partners
• Your work will help partners reach with inspirational and actionable content. You’ll collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including Product, Design, and Engineering, and develop a broad understanding of our ads system and experimentation framework to build high-quality products and systems.

Required:

• Strong Python software development skills
• Experience integrating open-source software, enterprise software, and custom code
• Experience with protocols such as SAML and LDAP are a big plus
• Bent on making people happier by improving their tools, no matter what their job role
• Ability to leverage engineering toolsets to solve company-wide problems
• Proven leadership abilities, including experience leading technical projects and mentoring junior team members.
• Skills: Backend and Web development, Python, Java, JavaScript
• Education: Bachelors or masters degree
