Job Title: Packaging Line Operator – Manufacturing

Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and safety-focused Packaging Line Operator to operate state-of-the-art, fully automated toothpaste packaging lines running at speeds of up to 450 tubes per minute. This role is responsible for ensuring efficient production, maintaining equipment and area cleanliness, performing quality checks, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives in a regulated manufacturing environment.
 
Key Responsibilities

• Operate fully automated packaging lines to meet production targets and quality standards.
• Handle packaging materials including cartons, shippers, labels, wrap, slip sheets, caps, pallets, and finished goods.
• Perform frequent quality inspections and accurately document results.
• Maintain cleanliness of production areas and equipment in compliance with GMP standards.
• Perform autonomous maintenance activities to ensure optimal line performance.
• Assist maintenance technicians with preventive maintenance tasks.
• Conduct inventories of packaging materials and finished products.
• Execute material transactions in SAP from receipt through finished goods.
• Document batch activities and production data in computerized systems.
• Identify and implement process improvements, cost savings, and waste reduction opportunities.
• Follow all safety guidelines, work instructions, procedures, and batch documentation requirements.
• Ensure full compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and company policies.

 
Basic Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Ability to work 12-hour shifts, including overtime and every other weekend.
• Basic computer proficiency (data entry, email, Microsoft Word and Excel).
• Ability to lift up to 55 pounds and stand, bend, and walk for extended periods.
• Strong attention to safety, quality, and compliance.

 Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
• Familiarity with equipment operation, basic maintenance, and changeovers.
• Experience operating industrial power lifts (pallet jacks, forklifts).
• Strong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally.
• Comfortable performing basic math calculations (percentages, fractions, decimals).
• Knowledge of multiple measurement systems (kilograms vs. pounds).
• Experience with ERP systems, preferably SAP.
