Job Description: Bioassay Scientist / Research Associate
Location: Oceanside, CA, 92056
Work Arrangement: 100% Onsite (no hybrid option)
Working Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Duration: 5+ Months (Possibility of Extension)
Position Overview
Under general supervision, this role supports biological drug development by developing and validating bioassays. The individual will plan and execute experiments, analyze data, and collaborate closely with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced laboratory environment.

Position Overview

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Develop and validate bioassays to support biological drug development
- Plan and execute experiments supporting Process Development activities and project goals
- Proactively engage senior scientists to discuss and troubleshoot experimental challenges
- Participate in team meetings and present experimental results
- Identify anomalous or inconsistent results and appropriately interpret outcomes
- Perform data analysis and assess data quality
- Operate scientific equipment including plate readers and SoftMax Pro software
- Perform ELISA and cell-based assays, including cell culture techniques
- Select appropriate experimental methods and prepare technical reports
- Plan and organize experiments with guidance from senior staff
- Communicate clearly and effectively to explain experimental processes and results
- Work efficiently in a fast-paced, highly collaborative laboratory environment
- Analyze and graph data using SoftMax Pro, Excel, and PowerPoint
Required Knowledge, Experience & Skills
- Strong understanding of ELISA and cell-based assays
- Hands-on experience with plate readers and SoftMax Pro software
- Proficiency in data analysis and graphical data presentation
- Strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to recognize data inconsistencies and troubleshoot issues
Education & Experience Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree (BSc) in a relevant scientific discipline with 2+ years of experience
OR - Master’s degree (MSc) in a relevant scientific discipline with 1+ year of experience
