Job Description:
Summary:
- The CWs will support efforts to perform data mitigations on large-scale datasets (image, video, text) leveraged by FAIR research teams. The goal is to proactively mitigate potential risks associated with these datasets. An ideal candidate is someone with a bachelor’s degree in computer science from an accredited institution, 12–24 months of prior Meta experience in both front-end and back-end work, and experience working with AI-related tools in any capacity.
Job Responsibilities:
- Processing data mitigations: pre-processing, executing mitigation pipelines, and post-processing.
- Optimization: identify optimization opportunities and improve the process.
- Implement the frontend (in React) and backend (in PHP or Python) of new features.
- Write and code logical and physical database descriptions and specify identifiers of databases to management systems, or direct others in coding descriptions.
- Attend project meetings and work as part of a project team to coordinate software development and determine project scope and limitations.
Skills:
- Verbal and written communication skills, problem-solving skills, customer service, and interpersonal skills.
- Basic ability to work independently and manage one’s time.
- Basic knowledge of the full software development lifecycle: from business/systems analysis through requirements gathering and functional specification authoring to development, testing, and delivery.
- Basic ability to troubleshoot issues and make system changes as needed to resolve issues.
- Basic knowledge of computer hardware and software.
- (Preferred) Skills in data processing and cleaning, transformation and formatting, data quality control, and validation.
Education/Experience:
- Strongly prefer CWs with prior experience at Meta (full 2 years preferred), as this would enable them to leverage their existing knowledge of Meta’s internal tools and processes, facilitating faster onboarding and more effective contributions to the FAIR mitigation efforts.

Typical Day-to-Day in the Role:
- Perform data mitigation requests.
- Work with XFNs to optimize the process.
Performance Measurement:
- High-quality, on-time project deliverables
- Ability to work independently
- Python experience is a must
- Some data management experience e.g., SQL, process large data
- Ability to be flexible and work well in different environments with varying tasks and responsibilities
Nice-to-Have Skills:
- Background in AI-building tools
- Former Meta experience highly preferred
Years of Overall Experience Required:
- 3–4 years of experience
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, or a relevant field required
