Job Description

Job Title: Production Readiness Manager / Service Manager
Location: Philadelphia, PA (Hybrid – 3 days onsite, 2 days remote)
Duration: 12 Months (Contract-to-Hire)
 
Job Overview:
The Production Readiness Manager is responsible for ensuring operational readiness across people, processes, and technology for new capability launches, system enhancements, and continuous improvements. This role acts as a bridge between Business and IT functions, ensuring smooth transitions into production environments with a focus on supportability, maintainability, and performance stability. The ideal candidate combines strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills with experience in cloud, on-premise, and SaaS operational environments.
 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Assess and validate release readiness requirements for Business, IT, and external stakeholders.
  • Partner with Program Leads, Project Managers, Business Analysts, and Technical Leads to define or update operational models.
  • Collaborate with Production Services and Software Maintenance teams to develop documentation, monitoring tools, and troubleshooting guides.
  • Create comprehensive support manuals, including software workflows, infrastructure components, engagement protocols, and SLAs.
  • Lead knowledge transfer sessions and capability demonstrations for IT Production teams.
  • Monitor post-release stability and performance, providing recommendations for improvement.
  • Coordinate training and communication plans for business and support teams.
  • Drive project gating processes and track all deliverables related to release readiness.
  • Manage readiness activities using Agile/SAFe tools (preferably JIRA).
  • Occasionally support weekend release or deployment activities as required.
 
Must-Have Skills & Experience:
  • 7–8 years of experience in release management or production readiness across AWS Cloud, On-premise, and SaaS environments.
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and critical-thinking skills.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities, including leadership presentations.
  • Proven ability to influence and negotiate across complex, matrixed organizations.
  • Hands-on experience with large integrated programs and process improvement initiatives.
  • Self-driven, results-oriented, and able to work under pressure while managing multiple priorities.
  • Comfortable navigating ambiguity and driving clarity in fast-paced environments.
