Title: Project Coordinator II
Duration: 12 months
Location: Edmonton or Calgary
Hybrid schedule: In office Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday - WFH Wednesday and Friday
Description:
Responsible for coordinating, monitoring, analyzing, and identifying all permit and non-technical risk items for all LP facility work, encompassing Operations, Core Programs, and Major Projects activities related to MCI, MLO, and other scopes executed by the department. The position will act as a business partner to all support groups, connecting stakeholder groups to Project team members, identifying and logging potential risks in permits, information, or process, that can impact schedules or scope to enable the successful execution of all planned work within designated outage windows, achieving targeted in-service dates.

Specific Accountabilities:
Coordination & Stakeholder Engagement
- With a customer service mindset, act as a trusted advisor and strategic partner to PMs, CMs, Operations, Major Projects, and stakeholders (Environment, Lands, NTR, Regulatory, SCM, CIE, and more departments in company).
- The role spans all work executed by the department including the MCI, MLO, and LRF scope.
- Be the central point of contact for permit and NTR information and to coordinate all external groups with the right Project Team members (PMs, CMs, Project Controls, Leadership, etc.,)
- Bridge and improve any gaps in information or coordination for scope executed by other groups. For example, MCI scope executed by Operations at a facility concurrently with MCI scope executed by this department where a permit delay for some Operations Scope could delay scope executed by this department.
- Scope and daily requirements will expand based on requirements from Project Management, Operations Coordination and Planning.
- Monitor, check, and coordinate, that stakeholders are aware of schedule changes that affect their work and are aligned with the new plan and schedule (this is an oversight function in additional to Project Management and Planning coordination) to ensure overall program alignment.
- Ensure key permit milestones are identified (and correct) in Project Controls schedules.
- Enter permit requests on behave of Project Manager(s) into client's PACMAN system.
- Monitor and log all permit and NTR risks, and communicate those risks (updates and changes) to the Planning Coordination Team and respective PMs.
- Monitor and analyze the entire program permit status (short term, annual, multi-year) and highlight any risks or gaps to the Planning Coordination team and Project Management, that affect the projects schedule, particularly any risks to outage schedules.
- Monitor, log, and report on any department Key Performance Indicators related to permits and NTR.
- The role will monitor, analyze, and flag all MCI or MLO work not executed by the department (example MCI work executed by Operations) that could affect our other scope. The role must understand the interdependences of all work executed at each station / facility.
- Provide a quality assurance function on permit schedule dates in PACMAN. Changes, schedule, scope, or other, monitor and ensuring stakeholders update their new permit forecasts timelines in PACMAN.
Must haves:
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma, in Engineering, Business, Sciences, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in project management, coordination, construction, or project controls (scheduling permits), with a comprehensive understanding of municipal, Provincial, State and Federal permits and the independence of those permits to project schedule and scope;
- Coordination roles (project engineering, coordination, logistics., material and permit tracking, etc.,) for new pipeline or facility construction would be considered an asset.
- Experience in industrial projects, with interfaces across Engineering, Procurement, Contracting, Execution & Construction, and Commissioning would be considered an asset.
- Strong grasp of construction activities, including understanding interdependencies, labour and equipment quantities, types, and durations.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively liaise between diverse project teams and stakeholders.
Working Conditions:
- Office environment.
- Stress levels can be above normal as planning work is deadline oriented (outages, ISDs, highly visible and numerous activities are conducted concurrently.
- Overnight business trips to the field may be needed, requiring Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). (10%)
