Position Title: Project Manager - Risk and Reputation
Line of Business: Risk and Reputation
Duration: 12 months (possibility of extension)
Working hours: 9 AM - 5 PM
Location: Remote (might need to visit office occasionally)
Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead the delivery and governance of the Azure Arc Project, which aims to provide End of Support Extended Security Updates (ESU) for legacy Windows Server (2012, 2016) and SQL Server instances that have reached the end of their support lifecycle. This role will ensure successful implementation of Azure Arc capabilities across hybrid environments, enabling compliance, security, and operational continuity.
Key Responsibilities
• Plan, execute, and manage the Azure Arc implementation project from initiation through closure.
• Coordinate deployment of Azure Arc services to enable ESU for legacy Windows and SQL servers.
• Ensure integration with existing infrastructure and alignment with organizational cloud strategy.
• Manage timelines, budgets, and resource allocation to meet project objectives.
• Establish and enforce governance frameworks for Azure Arc adoption.
• Ensure compliance with Microsoft licensing and ESU requirements.
• Monitor and report on security posture and operational performance of connected servers.
• Engage with cross-functional teams including Infrastructure, Security, and Application owners.
• Communicate project status, risks, and mitigation plans to senior leadership and stakeholders.
• Facilitate decision-making and resolve escalations promptly.
• Identify potential risks related to legacy system dependencies and ESU implementation.
• Develop and maintain risk registers and contingency plans.
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
• 5+ years of project management experience in IT infrastructure or cloud migration projects.
• Proven track record delivering projects involving Microsoft Azure services.
• Familiarity with Windows Server and SQL Server lifecycle management.
• Strong understanding of Azure Arc, hybrid cloud environments, and ESU programs.
• Excellent stakeholder communication and vendor management skills.
• Proficiency in project management methodologies (Waterfall or hybrid approaches).
• Experienced with Clarity PPM
• Certifications: PMP, PRINCE2, or Azure-related certifications (preferred).
Nice-to-Have
• Experience with large-scale legacy system modernization.
• Knowledge of compliance frameworks and security best practices in hybrid environments.
Key Deliverables
• Azure Arc environment configured and operational for ESU delivery.
• All identified legacy Windows and SQL servers onboarded to Azure Arc.
• Governance framework documented and implemented for ongoing compliance.
• Final project report including lessons learned and operational handover.
Success Metrics
• 100% of targeted legacy servers enrolled in Azure Arc within project timeline.
• ESU applied successfully to all in-scope servers without service disruption.
• Compliance with Microsoft licensing and security standards verified.
• Stakeholder satisfaction score ≥ 90% at project closure.
