Assignment Duration: 3+ Months
Location: 1192 Cypress Glen Circle, Kissimmee, FL
Shift: 1st Shift | Monday–Friday, 6:30 AM – 3:00 PM

Position Summary
The Phlebotomist I supports laboratory operations by performing blood draws and specimen collection while assisting with troubleshooting, training, and workflow recommendations. This role requires strong attention to detail, patient-focused communication, and adherence to safety and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities

Perform venipuncture and specimen collection (blood, urine, fecal, etc.)

Demonstrate proper technique using straight needles and butterfly needles

Label, centrifuge, split, freeze, and store specimens according to test requirements

Verify laboratory requisitions against specimen labels for 100% accuracy

Package specimens for transport while maintaining specimen integrity

Update and verify patient information in the system

Record equipment maintenance, decontamination, and quality control data

Clearly and courteously explain procedures to patients

Answer phone calls and provide laboratory result information as appropriate

Follow OSHA and DEP regulations and safety protocols

Attend annual department training sessions
Minimum Qualifications
-
Valid Phlebotomy certification (state-specific, if required)

Minimum 6 months of experience performing venipunctures in a fast-paced lab or hospital setting

High School Diploma or GED

Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite

Strong communication skills and attention to detail

Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
