Project Scheduler
12 Months
Oakland, CA 94612 (Hybrid - Tues-Thur 8-5pm required, remote Mon & Fri)

**Equipment: Expect this position to require a client Laptop. Interim solution for major delays will be to use Virtual Desktop on their own device. Other than the laptop, in office work, additional equipment will be provided a fully configured workstation. For days that are remote work at home workstation will be worker’s responsibility (except for client’s Laptop)

Required skills:

Desired Skills:
  • Prior large corporation, IT Project or other Program Experience – Understanding the working environment of a large company with multiple departments, request processes, information needs to accomplish Propel’s objectives and in given timeframes.
  • Financial acumen and understanding of labor forecasting practices for internal and external resources on the project.
  • ERP Implementation Project experience and understanding of Waterfall and Agile methodologies as it pertains to the various roles and responsibilities of team members.
  • Software Proficiency: Competent in Microsoft Office Suite products such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint.   CLIENT uses Microsoft Outlook, including extensive use of Calendar, MS-TEAMS for meetings and collaboration, and extensive document storage using SharePoint.
Additional Software Knowledge Desired:
  • Use of PowerBI and/or PowerApp, MS- SharePoint (or similar document management software)
  • MS-Office suite: Specially creating compelling PowerPoint and Word documents.
  • Agile Project Management software such as Atlassian’s Jira or Microsoft’s ADO workbench.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Engineering, Construction, Computer Science or Business Admin/Management Information Systems
  • Working knowledge of Financial and Accounting concepts.
 Work Experience:
  • 7+ years of experience as a Scheduler or Project Management roles.
 
Overview: Program is a multi-year major business and IT transformation initiative with the primary objective of moving from SAP’s ECC version to a ‘greenfield, clean-core’ SAP S/4 HANA version for Finance, Human Resources, Environmental Health Safety, Supply Chain, Work & Asset Management. This PMO role will be working collaboratively with leaders and others across the entire Program to forecast, manage, status, and mitigate issues with cost, schedule, resources, methodology and tools supporting several hundred internal and external resources. The Program is now entering its third year and transitioning from enterprise to detail design for the first of four major deployments. It is scheduled to complete in 2031.
  • The Project scheduler will perform various project management functions, which may vary with the phases and functional releases of the project, and as various challenges arise.
Job Responsibilities:
  • Create, monitor, and analyze project schedules in accordance with standard of best project management practice and CLIENT specifications.
  • Track, analyze, and report information appropriately to allow the various project workstreams to manage their tasks and understand any variances seen in the weekly reports
  • Ensure accuracy of project schedules, metrics and including resource loading status.
  • Co-ordinate project schedules, tasks, meeting updates, and efficient distribution of reports
  • Prepare, implement, and monitor scopes of work using Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) for control and integrity
  • Monitor projects’ progress, including identifying critical activities and reviewing forecasts and progress achieved to date
  • Maintain project risk register to ensure that risks are effectively managed to minimize their impact on schedule, scope, and budget of projects
  • Track baselines, perform what-if analysis, and develop contingency plans
  • Developing conceptual models for Business Capability traceability matrix to explain processes to all levels of users
  • Perform coordination of cross-functional departments to identify project issues, monitor action items, and work with the project manager to ensure resolution.
