Job Description

Position Title: Lab Technician II
Work Location: 515 Colorow Drive, Salt Lake City, UT, USA, 84108
Assignment Duration: 12 months
Work Arrangement: Onsite

Position Summary:
The Laboratory Support Staff works to meet deadlines in a dynamic environment and operates proactively and collaboratively in a team in support of research and development activities. Following a training period, tasks include laboratory supply management, maintenance, and execution of molecular and microbiological experiments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assists with stocking project-specific laboratory supplies, including inventorying stock.

  • Participates in weekly cleaning activities to maintain a clean lab environment.

  • Follow detailed instructions in the execution of experiments and procedures.

  • Work in a Biosafety Level 2 environment using appropriate PPE with potentially pathogenic microbes, patient samples, and body fluids using sterile techniques.

  • Work in PCR areas using appropriate PPE while ensuring proper containment of nucleic acid contamination.

  • Use electronic laboratory notebooks to record experimental details.

  • Use and maintain laboratory equipment and workspaces according to operational, quality, and safety requirements.

  • Communicate with supervisor continually on the progress of assigned tasks.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Perform all work in compliance with corporate policies and within the Quality Management System guidelines.

Qualification & Experience:

  • High School Diploma or GED with 1–2 years’ experience in a laboratory setting.

  • Associate degree with biology coursework preferred.

  • Basic laboratory (BSL-2 environment) technical skills.

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • Ability to work under direct supervision.

Working Conditions & Physical Demands:

  • Full-time onsite work.

  • Required use of personal protective equipment (PPE).

  • Handling potentially hazardous biological materials.
