Title: Tax Reporting Specialist
Location: Remote
Duration: 16 months (Possible contract to hire)
Schedule: 8AM - 5PM, Mon-Fri
Summary:
The Tax Reporting Specialist III works independently to maintain accurate and timely tax filings and correspondence. May Mentor other Tax Reporting Specialists.

Degrees or certifications required/Years of overall experience required: -
- High School diploma/GED equivalent or higher and a minimum of 4 years multi-state/local tax and 1 year customer service experience.
- OR Associate Degree or higher in Accounting, Finance or Business Management and a minimum of 4 years multi-state/local tax and 1 year customer service experience.
- Peoplesoft Payroll Tax.
- ADP Master Tax.
- Advanced Level Excel (Must know how to do V-Look Ups and Pivot Tables).
- Knowledge of Tax law and Accounting Principles.
- Attention to Detail.
- Strong critical thinking abilities.
- Proficiency in conducting tax research.
- Recognize process improvement- when needed.
- Excellent interpersonal communication.
- Skills in mentoring.
- Productive and efficient.
- Excellent Time Management.
- Quick adapter.
- Files and reconciles the most complex payroll tax returns: Federal, State, SUI-State Unemployment Insurance, Local and FUTA (Federal Unemployment Tax Act)
- Must have 5yrs exp paying and filing these items
- Research payroll/tax system issues and provides recommendations to manager.
- Training and mentoring co-workers
- Will be involved with W-2 process
- Recommends process improvements/procedures to manager and leads the implementation of approved process changes.
- Research and review payroll tax regulation changes for impact to company.
- The Tax team and customers (internal business units).
- Tax Knowledge; how well they mentor and help the tax team; do they work well with others; customer services.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Prepares, maintains and analyzes complex reports related to tax returns and periodic compliance
- Reviews and interprets financial results for tax analysis, deposits and return preparation
- Collects data and verifies accuracy
- Performs analysis of information received from multiple sources and recognizes and informs manager when issues arise
- Performs lead role in year-end process and preparing monthly journal entries as assigned
- Review basic returns performed by other Tax Reporting Specialists
- Intermediate to advanced skills in MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- No travel required
- Able to work assigned schedule subject to vendors flexible schedule policies and practices.
- Ability to work variable and flexible hours, such as nights, weekends, and holidays in response to business needs.
- Demonstrated strong attention to detail required
- Intermediate to advanced technical reporting ability to generate and review reports for quality and accuracy
- Requires the use of typical office equipment (e.g., computers, phones, etc.) whether working from home or in office. Computer keyboarding, computer monitor and mouse use including reaching forward, grasping, finger and wrist manipulation, and neck bending and turning; near vision is necessary for computer monitor use. If working in-office, individual will work in a typical office environment. If working in an Emerging Workspace, or similar working arrangement, or working from more than one location lifting of laptop equipment, files and/or personal belongings weighing 10 lbs. or less is required. High-speed internet access is required if working from a home office, at the employee's expense unless otherwise required by law.
