Job Location: 201 Seton Parkway, Round Rock, TX
Shift: 2nd Shift – 4x10s (12:00 PM – 10:30 PM), Friday–Monday
Duration: 3+ months

Required Vaccinations:

  • TB

  • MMR

  • T-DAP

  • Varicella

? Color vision test is required


Job Description

Job Duties / Responsibilities:
Responsibilities align with the job titles Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS), Medical Technologist, or Clinical Laboratory Scientist. Specific work environment/department will be indicated in the requirement.

  • Determine the acceptability of specimens for testing according to established criteria.

  • Perform routine and complex technical procedures following departmental Standard Operating Procedures.

  • Monitor, operate, and troubleshoot laboratory instrumentation to ensure proper functionality.

  • Make technical decisions regarding testing and problem-solving as needed.

  • Prepare, test, and evaluate new reagents or controls.

  • Report accurate and timely test results to support quality patient care.

  • Perform and document preventive maintenance and quality control procedures.

  • Identify and replenish testing bench supplies as required.

  • Assist with specimen processing when necessary.

  • Maintain a safe work environment and use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).


Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Chemistry, Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology, or as required by CLIA/State regulatory standards.

  • 0–2 years of clinical laboratory testing experience required.

  • State Medical Technologist license may be required (if applicable in requirement).

  • ASCP or AMT certification preferred or required (as indicated in requirement).

  • Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.

  • Proficient computer skills; familiarity with laboratory information systems is a plus.

  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and communication skills.

  • Must be able to pass a standardized color vision screening test.

  • Flexibility to work overtime or alternative shifts based on business needs.
