Job Description

Title: Instructional Designer III
Duration: 12 Months
Location: Remote

Job Description:
We are looking for an Instructional Designer to join the Client’s Academy team on a contract basis and play a key role in shaping our global advertiser education initiatives. In this role, you will be instrumental in developing high-quality, engaging training courses, modules, and materials for agencies and our diverse global advertiser base with a special emphasis on the Client’s Academy Certification program.
You will support content creation for certification and eLearning offerings, with a strong focus on designing robust assessments and exam questions that measure learning outcomes and support certification standards. You’ll bring experience working within authoring and testing tools as well as having a deep understanding of how to create, structure, and deliver global educational content and exams. Your expertise will help ensure our certification programs, knowledge checks, and evaluative components meet the highest standards for both rigor and learner experience.
You’ll collaborate cross-functionally with stakeholders in product marketing, sales, learning & development, and IT to build and deliver industry-leading advertiser education. As a member of our dynamic, purpose-driven team, you’ll act as both a thought partner and subject matter expert, helping drive the future of advertiser education at Client.

What you’ll do:
  • Support the development of engaging training content and assessments for Client’s Academy Certification and advertiser education programs, leveraging authoring tools such as Evolve and our LMS (Intellum)
  • Design, write, and review assessments—including knowledge checks, quizzes, certification exam questions, and scenario-based activities—to support learning objectives and certification rigor
  • Develop eLearning modules, webinar materials, and certification courseware that transform complex concepts into accessible, digestible training
  • Partner closely with teams across Pinterest to ensure training content, assessments, and certification materials align with business goals and learner needs
  • Drive the end-to-end process of educational content creation: from storyboarding and scripting to building, testing, and delivering learning experiences
  • Collaborate on visual and instructional design work including learning materials, illustrations, and landing pages within our LMS
  • Act as an advocate for assessment best practices and psychometrics, ensuring measurement strategies are valid and fair for a global, diverse audience

Skills:
  • 4+ years of Instructional Design experience, with a strong foundation in adult learning principles and techniques
  • Demonstrated expertise in assessment writing, particularly for professional-level certification exams.
  • Experience with e-learning development tools including Articulate Rise 360, Evolve, and Storyline, as well as hands-on experience working within a Learning Management System (LMS)
  • Proven ability to develop self-paced eLearning, webinar curriculums, storyboards, online tutorials, assessments, and other training materials
  • Experience in graphic design and general design work such as data visualization (charts/graphs), deck design, and more
  • Background working at a marketing agency, digital/social media organization, or with deep knowledge of ad tech
  • Quick learner able to get up to speed on our product offerings and tools with ease
  • Strong project management skills: from planning and managing details to multitasking, stakeholder engagement, and navigating ambiguity to deliver results
  • Preferred: Experience in multimedia development (audio, video, animation), using tools such as Figma, Canva, Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, Premiere Pro, or Vyond
  • Awareness of emerging tech trends in content creation (e.g., gamification, learning simulations)

Education
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as digital advertising, learning design, or equivalent experience
