Description
In this highly impactful role, you will use your mechanical design engineering skills to bring our Magic products to life. This looks like:

• Collaborating with industrial designers, hardware, software, product integrity, and technology teams to define the vision of a product.Exploring multiple product form factors and developing new product architectures.
• Defining kinematic behaviors to support ergonomic optimization. Integrating mechanisms, sensors, and other electromechanical components.
• Partnering with internal manufacturing teams and external vendors to optimize designs for function, cosmetics, and manufacturability.
• Ensuring design meets requirements through the life of the product through stress and tolerance analysis, DFMEA, prototyping, testing, and failure analysis.

Key Qualifications

• 2+ yrs experience in a mechanical engineering design role
• Solid engineering fundamentals: statics, strength of materials, kinematics and mechanism design, and manufacturing
• Great communication skills: written and verbal, with the ability to clearly communicate design ideas and contribute to brainstorms
• Eagerness to work in a dynamic environment and dependably complete individual work
• Prior experience in other relevant industries promotes diverse perspectives and approaches to solving problems. Our team culture fosters a constant learning environment where many new and relevant skills can be developed on the job.

Education

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in mechanical engineering or closely-related major.
