Infrastructure Support Engineer
Summary:
Seeking an experienced infrastructure engineer to complete remaining infrastructure work and provide ongoing support for cloud and cicd systems. The role requires strong technical skills, independent problem-solving, and collaboration with Meta teams.
Responsibilities:
  • Complete infrastructure deployment, configuration, and documentation tasks.
  • Provide ongoing support, incident response, and troubleshooting.
  • Automate tasks and improve operational efficiency.
  • Ensure compliance with Meta’s CI/CD best practices.
 
Must-Have HARD Skills
  1. Meta infra – Sandcastle OR Conveyor OR Skycastle OR Chronos OR Tupperware
  2. AWS
  3. Python, Bash
  4. Terraform
 
Nice-to-Have Skills
  1. Certification in AWS would be nice to have
  2. Experience setting up CI/CD pipelines in printing environments
  3. Kubernetes
 
Years of Experience:
  • 5-10
 
Required Skills:
  • 5+ years in infrastructure engineering.
  • Expertise in cloud platforms (AWS), scripting (Python, Bash), and configuration management (Terraform).
  • Strong troubleshooting and documentation abilities.
 
Preferred Skills:
  • Experience with Meta’s CI/CD and deployment tools:
    • Sandcastle (CI)
    • Conveyor (CD)
    • Skycastle (CI/CD workflows)
    • Chronos (distributed scheduler)
    • Tupperware (managed deployment)
  • Familiarity with Meta-scale infrastructure and internal processes.
 
Story Behind the Need – Business Group & Key Projects
Key Projects / Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
  • Maintain and improve AWS cloud infra
  • Maintain and improve CICD
  • Provide on-call support in US-WEST timezone
  • Mostly technical, expect 80% to be technical, and about 20% administrative.
 
Two Products the Team is Working On:
1. Printer console – desktop application that runs on a 3d printer. Maintain existing CI/CD pipeline that was just integrated, fix loose ends, finish the work, ensure everything runs smoothly, keep documentation up to date. Daily on-call.
2. Back office MES system – online and based on AWS. Product was migrated to CI/CD, migrated from Azure to AWS, manage and support AWS for that product, improvements and on-call support.

 Difficult Aspects of the Job:
  • Work on the project that was recently migrated from Azure environment to AWS + Meta CICD.
  • Coordinate with teammates in 2 timezones - PST and CEST

Note: Interviews will be in CSET time, so will only have overlap from 8-9 am PT.
