Job Title: Business Analyst – Advisor, Workday HCM
Location: Anywhere in Canada (Preference for Calgary/Edmonton, Alberta or Vancouver, BC or Greater Toronto Area, ON)
Contract Duration: 12 Months with possible extension

We are seeking an Advisor, Workday HCM who will provide data-focused functional expertise for both operations and projects.
As a member of the HR Data & Technology Support team, you will be a trusted resource to the business and the HR Solutions team—focusing on:
  • Data conversion
  • Data transformation
  • Bridging Workday functional configuration and Workday data
Your depth of experience in EIBs, Data Conversion, and Data Transformation is grounded in functional configuration knowledge of Workday HCM across modules such as HCM, Compensation, Benefits, Recruiting, Payroll, Time, Absence, Learning, or Talent.

What You Will Do
  • Function as an experienced resource for system administration, Workday best practices, HR transactions, reporting, mass data loading (EIBs), business process configuration and design.
  • Advise HR team members, managers, and employees on proper system usage.
  • Work with business and technical teams to gather and define requirements, recommend solutions, document change requests, configure/test/validate solutions, and implement data-focused or mass-load items.
  • Develop and execute EIBs; build custom fields and reports for configuration, validation, testing, and mass loads.
  • Support HR in driving service consistency, standardization, and adoption of standard methodologies.
  • Review, test, and implement bi-annual Workday releases; assess impact and present priority enhancements to business partners.
  • Maintain master data values in Workday (e.g., Job Profile, Job Family, Roles, Custom Organization Types, Positions, Locations).
  • Stay current on new Workday functionality and help implement improvements supporting HR service delivery.

Who You Are
You bring the following:
  • Related university degree, or an equivalent combination of education, certification, and experience.
  • 4+ years progressive Workday functional experience across multiple modules (Recruiting, HCM, Compensation, Learning, etc.).
  • Strong experience with data conversion, transformation, EIBs, and data tools such as Excel, Power BI, Power Query (assets).
  • Ability to plan and execute system changes for small-to-medium projects, including collaboration with IT technical teams.
  • Excellent relationship building, communication, interpersonal, and consensus-building skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with ability to translate business challenges into solutions.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills—capable of explaining technical concepts in business-friendly language.
