Job Title: Fragrance Lab Technician
Location: Piscataway, NJ
Duration: 4+ Months, (Possible Extension)
Work Arrangement: Onsite
Shift: 1st Shift (8:00 AM – 4:30 PM)
Position Summary
The Fragrance Lab Technician will support daily laboratory operations with a strong focus on fragrance sampling, compounding, stock management, and adherence to all QHSS&E (Quality, Health, Safety, Security & Environment) standards. This role requires precision, organization, and strong compliance with global laboratory practices. Candidates with prior fragrance lab experience are strongly preferred.
This role requires a physical fit test (drug screen + physical testing) conducted through the Sterling platform at a clinic chosen by the candidate.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Sampling & Compounding
- Perform sampling and compound fragrance oils according to business priorities, delivery timelines, and global good laboratory practices.
- Follow standard operating procedures and utilize all required digital tools and software.
- Meet the minimum required number of manual fragrance pours per day as defined by global targets and the Creation Lab Manager.
- Optimize the number of manual pours when applicable, excluding tasks designated for robotic equipment unless authorized.
- Maintain a clean, organized personal workbench following best practices.
- Keep personal raw material collections updated; remove expired materials promptly.
- Ensure the physical workbench collection matches digital system records.
- Maintain and organize fragrance oil collections related to perfumers and the oil library.
- Follow all QHSS&E procedures and contribute actively to improving lab safety.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and well-organized laboratory environment.
- Ensure all produced samples meet quality standards per global SOPs before release.
- Report any non-conformance to the Laboratory Supervisor or Manager immediately.
- Promote and participate in continuous improvement efforts, including LEAN projects.
- Support colleagues during high workload periods and operate with a strong team-oriented mindset.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Ability to pass all physical fit testing through Sterling.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational discipline, and ability to follow SOPs.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior fragrance lab experience (strongly preferred).
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry (preferred, not required).
