Job Description

Position Title: Mgr, Tax
Work Location: Irvine, CA 92606
Assignment Duration: 1-2 Months
 
Position Summary: Provide expert guidance on company's federal, state and/or local income tax and other non-income tax returns by examining accounts and records and computing tax liabilities according to applicable laws and regulations.
 
Key Responsibilities:
• Tax Compliance
o Prepare cash tax forecasts
o Analyze the need for and prepare estimated tax payments and extension requests
• Tax Accounting
o Prepare and/or review specialized analysis and calculations for tax accounting
o Perform quarterly tax account reconciliation utilizing specialized analysis
• Tax Audits
o Respond to taxing authorities with higher discretion and judgment in providing responses to information document requests, notices, inquiries, and other correspondence
• Tax Planning
o Conduct special projects and perform specialized tax research
o Provide direction and guidance to smaller project teams to execute tactical tax projects and/or initiatives
o Identify and evaluate tax process improvements opportunities
• Other incidental duties
 
Qualification & Experience:
• Bachelor's Degree in in related field, 8 years experience previous related experience or equivalent work experience based on Edwards criteria Required
• Experience working in public accounting or industry or equivalent work experience
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or equivalent Required
• Other: Certification in related discipline Preferred
 
Additional Skills:
• Certification in related discipline preferred
• Proven successful project management skills
• Proven expertise in Microsoft Office Suite, including advanced Excel and financial systems
• Excellent documentation and communication skills and interpersonal relationship skills including negotiating and relationship management skills with ability to drive achievement of objectives
• Extensive knowledge of own area within the organization while contributing to the development of new concepts, techniques, and standards
• Extensive understanding of related aspects of financial processes and/or systems
• Strict attention to detail
• Ability to interact professionally with all organizational levels and proactively escalate issues to appropriate levels of management in the organization
• Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to represent leadership on sections of projects within a specific area interfacing with project managers and finance team
• Ability to consult in a project setting within specific sections of financial area
• Ability to provide financial leadership to outsourcing partners on a task level
• Adhere to all company rules and requirements (e.g., pandemic protocols, Environmental Health & Safety rules) and take adequate control measures in preventing injuries to themselves and others as well as to the protection of environment and prevention of pollution under their span of influence/control
