Job Description

Position: UX/UI Developer
Location: Durham NC
Type: Direct Hire

Role Overview
We’re looking for a UX/UI Developer who blends front-end development with user-centered design to create polished, high-performing digital experiences. You’ll translate creative concepts into functional, responsive, and on-brand interfaces that elevate the customer journey across all ecommerce and marketing channels.
This role sits at the intersection of Creative, E-commerce, Merchandising, and Development — perfect for someone who loves building beautiful interfaces and enjoys collaborating with cross-functional teams.
We recently added a Level 1 and a contractor, so we’re actively reviewing candidates who can round out our small team. Culture fit is huge — we’re looking for someone collaborative, detail-driven, flexible, and genuinely enjoyable to work with.
What You’ll Do
Frontend Development
  • Build responsive web pages and digital content across Peter Millar and G/FORE
  • Execute clean HTML, CSS, and JavaScript (with or without frameworks)
  • Use pattern libraries, design systems, and brand documentation to ensure consistency
  • Write optimized, accessible (WCAG 2.1) code that performs across devices and browsers
UX/UI & Design Collaboration
  • Translate creative concepts into functional web experiences
  • Contribute to the UX design process (wireframes, sketches, user flows, prototypes)
  • Review designs for feasibility, offering solutions that balance user needs and brand integrity
  • Analyze competitive site features to identify usability and conversion opportunities
Ecommerce + Content Execution
  • Launch content updates supporting marketing, campaigns, and site merchandising
  • Ensure flawless on-time delivery across monthly, seasonal, and real-time brand activations
  • Communicate clearly with QA through detailed bug reporting
  • Maintain accuracy, brand standards, and workflow efficiency
Project Execution & Cross-Team Partnership
  • Work closely with E-commerce, Merchandising, Creative, and Media teams
  • Manage priorities, surface roadblocks early, and drive successful launches
  • Support ongoing process improvements and best practices across the dev/design workflow

What Makes You a Great Fit
  • Strong front-end development foundation (HTML, CSS, JavaScript)
  • Experience building or supporting digital content for ecommerce or marketing teams
  • Sharp eye for design and high attention to detail; strong at translating mocks to code
  • Ability to operate in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and iteration skills
  • A team-oriented personality — low ego, creative, solutions-driven
  • Ability to work independently while contributing to shared team goals

Preferred Experience
  • Bachelor’s in Computer Science, HCI, Interactive Media, or related field — or equivalent practical experience
  • 1–3 years of experience in front-end development, UX/UI, or ecommerce environments
  • Familiarity with frameworks/tools such as Svelte, Sass, Vite, Node.js
  • Experience using Figma for design collaboration
  • Experience with Salesforce Commerce Cloud (preferred but not required)
  • Background in luxury, retail, fashion, or DTC ecommerce is a plus

Interview Process
  1. Initial Teams interview with the Hiring Manager
  2. Practical skills test (approx. 3 hours total, 3–4 days to complete)
  3. Final on-site interview with the team
