Shift: 2nd Shift (12:00 PM – 11:00 PM)

Job Description
The Medical Lab Technician I will perform routine and complex laboratory tests to support quality patient care. This role requires strong attention to detail, adherence to safety protocols, and the ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
Key Responsibilities

Determine the acceptability of specimens based on established criteria.

Perform routine and complex technical procedures following department SOPs.

Monitor, operate, and troubleshoot laboratory instrumentation.

Make technical decisions related to testing and problem resolution.

Prepare, test, and evaluate new reagents or controls.

Report accurate and timely test results to support patient care.

Perform and document preventive maintenance and quality control procedures.

Maintain proper inventory of testing bench supplies.

Assist with specimen processing when necessary.

Maintain a safe work environment; use appropriate PPE at all times.
Requirements

Associate degree in Biology, Chemistry, Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology, or related field, or must meet CLIA/State regulatory requirements.

1–2 years of clinical laboratory testing experience required.

State Medical Technician license may be required (if applicable).

ASCP or AMT certification preferred or required (as specified per requirement).

Ability to work independently and collaboratively.

Proficiency with computers; experience with Laboratory Information Systems is a plus.

Strong attention to detail, communication skills, and organizational ability.

Must be able to pass a standardized color vision screening test.

Flexibility to work overtime or alternate shifts based on business needs.
