MEP Estimator
Location: Duluth, GA or Sandy Springs, GA (5 days onsite)
Type: Direct Hire

Overview
RC Andersen’s Mission Critical team is seeking an MEP Estimator to support mission critical operations. This role develops and prepares MEP cost estimates for projects in early stages of development and supports the team throughout the preconstruction phase. The candidate will manage several projects simultaneously, typically ranging from $50M–$150M.

Responsibilities
• Review plans and MEP drawings
• Prepare quantity take-offs
• Conduct thorough review of plans to identify missing items
• Develop and maintain subcontractor relationships
• Solicit subcontractor bids and gather 3–5 bids per trade
• Analyze bids for conformance to specifications, pricing, material quality, insurance, and wage requirements
• Communicate with subcontractors to resolve questions
• Follow approved estimating practices and ensure financial objectives are met
• Maintain knowledge of construction codes and industry changes
• Utilize estimating software to calculate, record, and track estimates
• Attend client meetings and address questions related to pricing and estimates
• Support change order pricing, site visits, bid delivery, and collaboration on bids
• Determine material and labor requirements and prepare itemized lists
• Prepare estimates for planning, scheduling, bidding, and vendor selection
• Conduct cost studies to identify cost reduction opportunities
• Maintain and organize a centralized cost estimating database
• Analyze completed projects to compare estimated vs. actual costs and recommend improvements

Qualifications
• BS or BA required (Construction, Engineering, Architecture, or related fields preferred)
• 5+ years of experience in Estimating, Construction Engineering/Project Engineering, or related roles
• Open to candidates transitioning from field operations into preconstruction
• Strong computer skills (Excel, MS Office)
• Strong budgeting, purchasing, and organizational skills
• Demonstrates honesty, accountability, and reliability
