Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Laboratory Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing experiments following established standard operating procedures, maintaining lab equipment and supplies, and ensuring safety in our wet lab facilities. This role plays a critical part in supporting the smooth operation of our laboratory and contributing to the success of our research and development activities.

Responsibilities
  • Executing established standard operating procedures (SOPs), which includes cleaning laboratory glassware using appropriate techniques, preparing and processing organic solutions, and handling electrical and mechanical components in our system.
  • Accurately document all laboratory experiments, including objectives, methods, results, and observations. Ensure traceability and reproducibility of experiments.
  • Organize and maintain laboratory parts, supplies, and equipment. Conduct regular inventory checks and reorder supplies as necessary.
  • Prepare reports or summaries of experimental findings as needed for internal review and collaboration. Communicate effectively regarding laboratory needs, issues, or changes.
  • Ensure compliance with laboratory safety and regulatory requirements.

  • Familiarity with Basic Laboratory Techniques
    • Experience working with organic chemicals and solvents.
    • Ability to follow established standard operating procedures (SOPs) for experiments, cleaning glassware, and handling lab components.
  • Organizational and Inventory Management Skills
    • Ability to organize and maintain laboratory parts, supplies, and equipment.
    • Conduct regular inventory checks and reorder supplies as needed.
  • Safety and Compliance Awareness
    • Ability to follow safety guidelines for handling hazardous chemicals.
    • Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and operation of lab safety equipment (e.g., fume hoods).
    • Ensuring compliance with laboratory safety and regulatory requirements.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant scientific field (e.g., chemistry, biology, biochemistry, engineering) or equivalent with 5+ years of related experience.
  • Familiarity with basic laboratory techniques involving organic chemicals and solvents, and additional training will be provided.
  • Organizational skills and ability to manage inventory.
  • Ability to follow safety guidelines for handling hazardous chemicals, use of personal protective equipment (PPE), and operation of lab safety equipment like fume hoods.
  • Good documentation, communication, and teamwork skills.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in organic chemistry, optics, and crystallization.
  • Experience in slicing and polishing brittle samples such as glass and ceramics.
