Location: San Juan, PR
Pay Rate: $15.00 / Hourly

Purpose:
This position is responsible for the assembly, installation, troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair of HVAC systems and components, including pumps, pipes, insulation, chillers, AC units, DX units, coils, thermostats, ducts, diffusers, AHUs, fans, electric motors, VFDs, PCA units, and more. The technician completes and documents work orders submitted by airport personnel or supervisors, performs scheduled maintenance per the Maintenance Plan, and ensures compliance with safety standards and applicable codes. Coordination of resources, equipment, and materials is essential for effective and efficient task execution.

Essential Functions:

• Service and repair HVAC systems to improve efficiency (e.g., filter changes, duct cleaning, refrigerant refills).
• Install and adjust thermostats, humidistats, timers, and cooling systems.
• Test pipe joints for leaks and electrical circuits for continuity.
• Connect HVAC equipment to water or refrigerant sources.
• Install auxiliary components (e.g., valves, ducts, blowers).
• Lay out and connect electrical wiring using diagrams and hand tools.
• Inspect and test systems for compliance and malfunction detection.
• Document work using CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System).
• Perform preventive maintenance (e.g., cleaning, oiling, filter changes).
• Install chillers, compressors, and related cooling equipment.
• Operate and maintain equipment per O&M manuals and specifications.
• Fabricate and install ductwork using metal-working tools or welding equipment.
• Use BMS (Building Management System) to monitor and control HVAC systems.
• Follow safety regulations and use appropriate protective equipment.
• Execute any other duties assigned by the Supervisor.

Qualification Requirements:

• Associate Degree from a Technical Institute or College.
• Refrigeration Technical License.
• EPA Certification.
• Valid Driver’s License.
