Note:
  • The position will be on-site at DCPP and require an Alternate Work Schedule (AWS) please confirm and ensure internally you can support this role and are able to move forward with this schedule before submitting any candidate(s). If yes, an AWS Acknowledgement Form will need to be completed by the worker and kept on record internally (supplier to provide applicable form to sign and not provided by MSP).
  • Only submit candidates currently residing and local to DCPP in Avila Beach, CA area/within client service territory.
  • With manager prior approval can submit monthly expense for personal cell phone use for a pre-determined amount.
  • Role will have unescorted access badging therefore Client will perform the background check and drug screening.
  • Client laptop will be provided. Other client tools will be provided as needed.
 
Top Things Looking For:
  • Strong working knowledge of relevant Microsoft applications, including Visio, Power BI and/ or Tableau.

Position Summary: Business Analyst transform data into insight that can help to improve the value of the Project Services Department at DCPP. Other duties and responsibilities of a Business Analyst include developing and managing business intelligence solutions for the organization, providing reports through office applications to improve business processes. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to transform data into meaningful analysis and support data-driven strategies for the purpose of executing the department’s mission. The Business Analyst will leverage data to provide actionable insights that drive strategic decision-making and enhance operational efficiencies across the organization.
Desired:
  • Experience with designing and developing customizable and interactive dashboards and reports using BI tools to visualize key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics
  • Expert builder of automated reports and dashboards with the help of Power BI and other reporting tools
  • Perform in-depth data analysis to identify trends, correlations, and opportunities for improvement, resulting in actionable recommendations.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and define reporting needs, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
  • Execute data quality assessments and cleansing processes, maintaining data integrity and accuracy across all reporting outputs.
  • Support strategic initiatives by providing analytical insights and recommendations, including forecasting and trend analysis.
  • Present findings and insights to stakeholders, translating complex data into understandable and actionable formats.
  • Experience in tools and systems on MS SQL Server BI Stack, including SSRS and TSQL, Power Query, MDX, PowerBI, and DAX
  • Expert-level MS Office skills including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and MS Project
  • Have knowledge of database fundamentals such as multidimensional database design, relational database design, and more
  • Demonstrated experience in metrics development and deployment
  • Experience with deployment flow charts and/or &swim lane; tools for visualizing procedures and roles
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Required:
  • Bachelor's degree in business management, project management or other related fields, and or equivalent work experience 3+ years of experience in business intelligence, data analysis, or a related field.
  • Proficient in SQL and experienced with data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or similar.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a proven ability to translate data into actionable insights.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly and concisely.
  • Maintain FFD Requirements to work at Nuclear Power Plant facility
Preferred:
  • Experience in an agile environment or with Agile methodologies.
  • Familiarity with programming languages such as Python or R for data analysis.
  • Knowledge of database management systems (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL) and data warehousing concepts.
  • Strong team collaborator with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
  • Detail-oriented mindset with a passion for data and a commitment to excellence.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and a fast-paced environment.
  • Proactive approach to identifying opportunities for improvement and problem-solving.
  • Utility industry experience
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
  • Deep expertise in SQL for querying and manipulating data.
  • Hands-on experience with data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI, etc.) for creating dashboards and reports.
  • Familiarity with ETL processes and data integration techniques.
  • Understanding of statistical analysis and modeling methodologies.
