Position Summary:
The Antibody Engineering Department leverages state-of-the-art approaches and technologies to discover and engineer antibody-based therapies to improve patient well-being. We are seeking a highly motivated and talented individual to join our dynamic and fast-paced environment to support this mission. The primary focus of this hands-on laboratory position will be to implement and apply molecular biology and biochemistry techniques, namely phage display, to support the antibody discovery process. The successful candidate will work closely with Antibody Engineering scientists to deploy the above approaches to help discover novel antibodies for application across broad, multi-functional efforts geared towards therapeutic development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Generate antibody phage display libraries and perform in vitro selections to identify candidate binding clones.
  • Interface with colleagues within Antibody Engineering to understand and address program needs to inform selection strategies.
  • Use high-throughout biochemical techniques (e.g. ELISA, surface plasmon resonance) to rigorously characterize antibody candidates.
  • Deploy molecular biology approaches (e.g. PCR, cloning) to enable rapid recombinant expression of candidate clones.
  • Maintain and share detailed records of results for facile transfer of binding clones to program teams for further characterization.
Qualification & Experience:
  • B.S./B.A. degree or higher in biology, chemistry, or related field
  • 1-2 years of relevant industrial experience, ideally in a drug discovery setting
  • Basic biochemistry and/or molecular biology lab skills, including:
  • RNA isolation
  • Bacterial culture
  • Phage display
  • PCR
  • ELISA
  • Molecular cloning and DNA/protein sequence analysis
  • Experience with Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Powerpoint.
  • Excellent record keeping and communication skills.
  • Excitement and enthusiasm to work in a dynamic, collaborative, and fast-paced environment.
  • Experience measuring protein-protein interaction binding affinity using surface plasmon resonance is a plus.
