Job Title: Support Engineer III
Location: Redmond, WA 98052
Duration: 12 months
Shift 1:
Weekend shift 4 days-10 hours (F- M): 7 am - 5.30pm
Shift 2: (M-F) - 8hrs/day, 3:30pm - midnight


Position Overview:
This position is responsible for building or testing the propulsion system and subsystems in a production environment. Responsibilities and qualifications are listed below.
 
Job Description
Key Responsibilities
  • Manage expected turnaround time per workstation.
  • Adhere to the lab’s quality control policies, document all quality control activities, conduct instrument and procedural calibrations, and perform all required maintenance.
  • Identify problems that may adversely affect test performance or reporting of test results; correct the problems encountered or immediately notify the senior technologist or supervisor.
  • Adapt to unexpected schedule changes and respond to emergency situations.
  • Support process work and review output for quality and adherence to standards and procedures.
  • Participate in daily team meetings, end-of-shift reporting, and coordinate efforts to minimize production interruptions.
  • Support safety standards and operations protocol while ensuring team compliance.
  • Build and test subsystems following blueprints and work instructions for daily rate delivery.
 
A Day in the Life
The Support Engineer III will assemble the propulsion system and help identify process improvements to improve build or test efficiency. You will work closely with multiple engineering teams on production hardware and manufacturing processes.
The successful candidate thrives in a fast-paced, startup-like environment and is able to apply their technical expertise and commitment to quality to positively impact team metrics and organizational goals. To be successful, you need to be highly motivated and detail-oriented while showing the highest standards of execution.
 
Basic Qualifications
  • Aircraft Power Plant certification/license, automotive certifications, or other technical certifications.
  • Able to read, interpret, and work from engineering documentation and/or drawings.
  • Experience working with FOD, ESD-sensitive hardware, and clean room requirements.
  • Experience working with MES software packages.
  • Ability to rapidly change roles/responsibilities while working in a high-paced, challenging work environment.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Must be able to safely lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Good attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Preferred Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 2 years relevant aerospace/automotive manufacturing experience or equivalent industry experience.
  • 2 years of relevant hardware testing experience.
  • 2 years of hands-on work experience with electronic test equipment such as data acquisition devices, oscilloscopes, digital multimeters, and power supplies.
  • 2 years experience in a fast-paced production environment with flight hardware.
  • 2 years of hands-on experience with precision torque, measurement, and inspection devices.
  • Strong verbal/written communication and listening skills.
  • Experience building up test racks and infrastructure.
  • Experience with test execution software such as TestStand, LabView, and Python.
  • Experience working with vacuum and/or pressurized gas systems.
